Not sure I’ve ever heard such a bizarre strawman argument as “Arsenal need to buy experienced players and not youth” when the examples given for youth were both homegrown and Arsenal last two summer transfer windows have seen them take on zinny, Jesus, rice, raya, Jorginho, and havertz. It’s just an entirely made up speaking point when “de jong would be a good signing” covers everything that needs to be said. And that’s ignoring the madness of suggesting any team should ignore buying young players, Man City certainly don’t ignore it.

I would get Bruno Guimaraes, doesn't get injured, can play 6 or 8. Frenkie is a brilliant 6 but he's also injury prone. One of the issues with Partey is how unavailable he has been for Arsenal, trading one unavailable player for another just doesn't seem like progress imo

The difference between how Arsenal is being run nowadays what came before is that we are actually spending money and not having to sell our best players. If Wenger had been able to spend the equivalent to what Arteta has spent after 2004, things would have been a lot different.

If zubi comes in its to come in as the 6 allowing both odegaard and partey to be ahead of him. A jorginho replacement if you will. De jong is the option you go for to keep rice as the 6. Obviously I could be wrong as I'm not arteta but it's where I think he'd play. Ultimately arteta knows more than what we as fans know. He is the one who knows what the final picture of this arsenal team is so if the player he wants to go for is zubi then zubi the the player I want. Not some nonsense about 'has won things before'. De Jong would 100% be better for Arsenal than Liverpool, he's more suited for the way Arsenal play. Liverpool play completely different which i can see him struggling to fit in.

Fabio Viera is not great in the physicality aspect of the game. Arteta has been lining up the squad with tall and strong players, the shortest are Saka and Trossard who are exceptionally talented on the wings. Fabio can't offer much in the midfield and isn't as talented as Saka and Trossard to be used consistently on the right or left wing

Vieira lacks physicality & grit, in most cases a player doesn't overcome these deficiencies. I think Arteta saw someone who could be the next Bernardo Silva, but he just doesn't have the mentality.
