As so many people have already commented on: this was excellent practice at both hearing the individual words and figuring out the meaning of the sentence - and your crystal clear pronunciation is so helpful.

That's a great request! I taught English overseas and you don't notice how fast you speak in your own language until you hear feedback from students! Very insightful.
Listening practice is the best way to improve your conversational skills. I wondered if you had a lesson on the so called false friends. I sent an email to a guy who was going was going to pull down my barn … he replied ‘ does it require an evacuation’ which I thought was odd as he knew I didn’t actually live there. I asked what he was taking about and then realised after a chat with my neighbour that he was referring to clearing the rubble . Still yet to hear from him.

Hello Dylane I am sure that you must have explained this over and over again but I just keep missing it. Why do we say économiser de l’argent with an article before argent but j’avais assez d’argent with no article? The last one j’avais plus d’argent would that be considered negation and hence it has to be de?
@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane
Жыл бұрын
That one is very simple, after a notion of quantity there is no article. J'ai plus d'argent, J'ai assez d'argent, J'ai beaucoup d'argent, J'ai un peu d'argent, etc :D

Number 4.....should that not be "Est-ce que tu les as vu?" I don't understand why the past participle is spelled "vues".

I have never heard this in my life, sorry!
Why is it "Je ne trouve pas mes clés" and not "je ne peux pas trouver mes clés"?
@aurevoirpet-ourfrenchlife6772
Жыл бұрын
I can see why “je ne peux pas trouver mes clés” makes sense but when I struggle with making a sentence negative I always try to see it in the positive first therefore even though it doesn’t sound right to say “I find my keys” it would be “je trouve mes clés” and then I put the ne and pas around the verb. However that’s purely my personal way of learning. Dylane will be able to explain properly why it’s the way it is 😊
@chitlitlah
Жыл бұрын
Because I'm searching but I'm not finding them. In past tense, we'll often say, "I didn't find my keys," in English, so why not present tense? This is one of those rare cases where I think English does it the weird way when I try to think about it objectively.
@nanonkay5669
Жыл бұрын
@@chitlitlah I get that, but saying "I don't find my keys" and saying "I cannot find my keys" should be two different translations, even though they both somewhat communicate the same idea

I am confused by your pronunciation when an s (les) is followed by a vowel. I do not hear you pronouncing the s (like a z). Did I have it wrong all these years?

@@jackiewong5176 Maybe it’s easier for you. Who is « us »!?🤦♂️ Speak for yourself. Everyone is different. In order to learn a foreign language, one should immerse themselves in it, that’s the best way learning any language. Luckily, there are plenty of great native French speaking professors that teach French only in French.
