I'm Dutch. Just a bit tired of all these (in my opinion) fake seeming genres. I get the idea of House or Future House or whatnot, but calling it *French* is really stupid imho.

Not sure what the insults are for. I've never really meddled with electronic genres too much, I came here for the Electroswing and I'm just baffled at how many obnoxious sounding genres this channel is starting to pump out.

Pasix the Halcyonic Valkyrie Chill out man! EDM has a lot of genres that are later on divided on basis of how and where it's played. Like Mainstage is for the dance freak concerts like Tomorrowland, while House and Disco is meant to be played inside room; Future Funk is a modernised remix of the old classics and so forth... Just like that, French House is one genre that relies heavily on mixing and phaser effects on remixes of the old Space house classics played in the 80's. You could say it was a prequel to the Future Funk you hear today. The name obviously comes because the French were the first to start this trend. Don't have a preconditioned mind, just lay back and give it a chance, you will enjoy the music. PS: If you listen to the old songs, you will wanna improve them too. This is one genre for those improvements.

Thanks for the explanation. I must've been oblivious to the changing EDM genre. Only stumbled upon it as of late, for some reason. I don't consider myself preconditioned or feeling negatively towards anything sounding new, but I was used to being able to divide music easily on a specific genre, but I'm losing track of all these new sounding genres, so I have to figure out what's what again and it's baffling as I keep stumbling upon new genres that sound wackier than the last. I guess originality regarding names did kind of die out. :P

I think it's called that due to the French artists like daft punk and Cassius (maybe modjo) who put their own house music, hence the name.
