    How are the “two” leaf springs aligned if “one leaf” moves? I see there is a bolt in the center. Would removing that bolt allow me to straighten the “leafs”?

    How about the leaf springs on the drive axles? Do you recommend replacing the whole leaf springs versus just the bushings?

  • @franciscoamayaYT

    @franciscoamayaYT

    Yes, replacing the spring is better. But they don't break so easy. Just with the bushings is fine to save $

    You need some like a strap to pull the axle back. It is normal that it moves like 1 or 2 inches.

    On my 2015 freightliner cascadia it has a vibration which I have taken to several mechanics and have spent over 7000 to try to have fixed and it still vibrates especially when loaded and at higher speeds. We have replaced drive tires the hub have had tires balanced several times have had it aligned had all suspension parts checked and anything needed fixed and replace. Yet the driver side is still a quarter inch lower than left and we have recently noticed the driver side leaf spring has play where as the passenger side is fine. So I am going to have driver side replaced. Do you think I need to replace the passenger side too? Do you think there is anything else that could be causing the vibration? They have also checked the frame and the frame is fine.

    +Iaven Ziad Odanodlam I recommend to replace both leaf springs at same time, it could be possible that you leaf springs bushings are not insolating the vibration for the road. Do you know where the vibration is coming for? The steering wheel? Under cab? Around the cab? Rear area of the cab? Or all mentioned above?

    Francisco Amaya most of it the vibration feels on the steering wheel but yeah it's Shaks the whole truck it feels ,we balanced steer tires put new steer tires put new carrier bearing put new f shocks on the steer axle ,even balanced the drive tires thinking that could b the issue, and it steel vibrating it feel more intensive when it's loaded I don't know why and when I'm driving down the hills. At speeds between 50 and above the faster the speed the more intense the vibration, I took it to a mechianic couple weeks ago and he lifted both drives and put the truck in gear and for some reason it was doing little shaking but not so bad then we took all the drive tires off and there was no vibration at all we even disconnected the drive shaft where the carrier bearing is and no vibration was found, it's so frustrating that no body can find the issue

    Francisco Amaya we took it to the freightliner shop @ 1st they said it was the lead spring s on the driver side that were worn out they said that for some reason it was putting pressure on the steering gear box and was making the suspension shake and then they called me next they and said that that leaf spring was still good that they found a different problem that the wheel bearing that was little bit out of round so they replaced that costed $1300 and didn't solve the problem,so I took it to other mechianic this time he checked everything as other mechianic's did before including drive line u joints king pins all that stuff he said that everything looked good except the driver side spring leafs he showed me how when I rock the steering wheel with the engine running how the axle on that side moves back and forth,and the. he did some measurements on the frame ,from the top of the leaf aping to the bottom of the frame on the steer axle the the truck is lower 1/2 inch on the driver side where the bad leaf springs are , so this time I guess we will replace the 2 front sets of leaf springs and the rear shocks and the leveling suspension valve i'm hoping that will help with this issue,....if u think abt anything else that could possibly be please let me know I would really appreciate it ,thank you

    Francisco Amaya So Do you think after doing all the work we have done so far by replacing the two leaf springs that it will stop the vibration or do you know of anything else that may cause it? If it's easier to respond to me by email it's Nevai.diaz@gmail.com I'd leave my phone number but don't trust online prowlers. I've been watching your videos for awhile now and you know a lot about these trucks and I trust your opinion and am tired of taking it to places wasting valuable time and money guessing at this.

    Bilal Agha Mine cost a little over 1k. The dealer would probably charge over 2k. Make sure you get OEM leaf springs. I got some non-OEM and it looks like they are not holding well.
