Freezing herbs to keep the fresh herb taste.

Freezing herbs in butter or oil is a great way to preserve them. These little cubes are so handy to have on hand.

It just so happens that I have some herbs ready to be harvested. I've done some of them in oil before, but never thought to use butter. What a great (and yummy) idea. Love the Ball molds, too. I hadn't seen them before. Great video!

Yes, great way to preserve those garden herbs. I made a bunch of pesto and froze them in 1/2 cup circle silicone freezer muffin trays. I have basil frozen with just water too for times I don’t want oil or butter. I’m going to get my lemon balm and balsam mint for teas as well. 😊😍🌱

Wondering if you could do this with Dixie bathroom cups, to see if you like the idea, before investing in molds.

I found them at Walmart several years ago. Unfortunately I haven't seen them anywhere since. But really they are nothing more than silacone candy molds. You can find tons of them in all different shapes and sizes at places like Joann's and Michael's craft stores. They even have them with the Wilton candy supplies at Walmart. If you use Amazon just search for silacone candy molds. I hope that helps.

What herbs do you plant together in one container?

I know that mint will take over a container, so I always put it in its own container. When I put herbs together, I use pieces of cardboard in the dirt to divide them and keep their roots contained in their areas.
