@@andrewhuang In theory you could dip a hydrophone soaked in water into a pot of molten lead 200 degrees above melting point. There's this thing called the Leidenfrost effect that will protect the microphone from getting burned to a crisp as long as water's still on it. That's one way to record that stuff at least.

What a fun video! I kinda already missed these old funny abstract music experiments and now this comes out 😍 :)
Side-chaining your noise gate to the drums to let in the texture was genius!! It brought the drums to life!
I very much appreciate that you saying "here it is with a little bit of clean up and processing" at 5:20 was in time with the beat.

Wow that texture really adds a lot to the drum loop. Also the melting ice sounds were just awesome.
this man brings a sense of life to music that I can't even explain, it's so intriguing
The mic experiments are super cool and the filming is crazy. Andrew is amazing!
just the amount of effort you put into your videos for us, let alone the creativity in all your tracks, amazing 🙏🏻
This was an amazing video! Those frozen sounds are so cool. // Thank you for bringing up those orgs, donating, and being part of this moment in history! much love
Another nice vid bro. The way you processed and made the beat for the water melting with the mic inside was dope.
It’s been a while since I’ve watched your videos. It’s nice to see you’ve still got the charm.
Woah you are very musically talented, I didnt even pick up on the ice melting having some sort of beat. I love the creativity you have for this as well! Glad I just found your channel!

Really loved this video. The part about adding textures through noise really makes me remember Burial, because he does that a lot, and that's part of why his music is so unique, specially his drums.
always inspiring! Thanks Andrew..!
I love the sound of the melting and cracking ice. And I am looking speechless at your creativity
Amazing. Inspiring as always. Thanks for all that you do.

I love how there's a solid couple minutes of tasty production tips before jumping into what the video is primarily about, yass

My jaw literally dropped at 5:05. That is an amazing sound! Also the beat that you heard is evidently not the same beat that I heard... fascinating!
Those melting sounds sounded like an avalanche! And I loved the beat you made with it!
This is such a clever idea! These videos make my days better.
The sound was actually extremely unexpected. And the little song that came of it... not even gonna start 😂
I love the track "You", I've been listening to it on repeat! Such a beautiful track and I'm so happy there's now this video showing some breakdown on how it was made, makes me love it even more ✨

Hello Andrew. I really like, appreciate and got great respect for your creativity when it comes to making music. Keep up the good work!
New to your channel and absolutely loving the content so far! 3:10, your presentation style and vocal cadence remind me so much of Alton Brown, whom I think is an amazing communicator! Clearly you've put a lot of thought into every aspect of these videos. Thank you!
Andrew you absolute madlad. This is dope
I recently started trying my hand at recording "found" sounds... my first attempt was using an almost-empty plastic bottle of honey, and recording the sound of the "flarp" sound as the the surface tension of the honey breaks when the honey is replaced in the nozzle by air. I didn't get far with it as I'm still fairly novice level at this, but it's something I'd love to see Andrew do since I am confident he'd do a better job of it than I.
love it. I love recording incidentals like that, definitely gonna get myself a couple of those hydrophones though. Keep up the coolness.

What can I say. I'm so happy to see content from and with you. And on top of that it's ewxtremely cool. Also incredibly nice work on the camera, too!. The closeups of the ice and the timelapse were really something. "You" sounbds really cool as well! Stay as awesome as you are :).
Finally a new video woo!! Cool ideas here. I've never thought of using a gate sidechained with drums to add texture to drum hits. I'll definitely have to try that out.
This is next level and what I needed for inspiration as I’ve been nervous adding textures to sounds but really been wanting to experiment with sounds like digital malfunctions added to my sounds & spaces in layering/ found grooves
This was super creative! The ice beat was dope!
Thank you Andrew for lighting my world up. I wanted to tell you about this but never had the chance. I am a highschool student and now I just want to dedicate my life to music. Thanks again for giving me a dream.

Always impressed by your videos :)
Hah! Cool to see you gating the noise with the drums. I did that in a track of mine called Pensive, where the drums gate a recording of a stream running, resulting in what sounds like little splashes to the beat. Still one of my favorite songs I've ever made.
