It was a war on drugs, they already had the plug they needed to get the pushers who would inevitably find a new source. It was a lot of violence tied up in all this too, not just the drugs. No better way to find everybody than making a deal with the person they all coming too

@@soundsannon that’s still some bullshit how you gon lock up the guy who bought it and sold it for life but let the person who distributed and trafficked it pass the border a slap on the wrist the system racist ass fuck. Blandon was already working with em anyway they really chased Rick down to get him off the streets he wasn’t even selling no more. They made so much off black men dying and going to jail didn’t really care about the community until it started showing up in suburban areas and other cities. The war on drugs shit was a joke it didn’t stop shit it’s still going on that shit was a bogus ass excuse to demonize people of color and outcast em from society and make billions while they work for 40 cents a hour. Crooked cops kept shit going on between gangs and then the mass flow of gun shops train cars and liquor stores didn’t help either.

I love this part of the interview it really emphasizes Freeway's mind state at that time. I feel like he knew he was gonna go to prison the minute he excepted the deal but he was willing to gamble even with the odds staked heavily against him. In the hood we refer to everything involving making money as a "game". Like he said, snitching and losing is a part of the drug game, no one is undefeated but in the end he won in my opinion. Too bad so many lives had to be lost for him to walk out of the game a better man.
