Freestyle Skiers First Time on Slalom Skis
Спорт
In this video, you get to tag along with me a freestyle skiers first time on slalom skis. I reflect on the experience as I go ski piste, powder and park on slalom skis. The thing that was the best about the experience was learning how to carve a full circle and doing euro carves in the park. It was rad! ⛷ Become a well-rounded Skier that can shred at our brand new Ski Technique Camps for adults: stompittutorials.com/camps/

I'm often in the park with slalom skies. It might not be optimal but it somehow works. And the good thing is, that you still can enjoy the normal slopes. I pesonally think that the best skiers are playfull - such as you- and enjoy every kind of skiing.
I agree with the statement "its the skier not the skis," because the truth is a good skier can ski any ski on any snow. But I feel like a lot of people misinterpret this as _"there isn't really a difference in skis, its more a difference in skill."_ This video shows that there *is a difference* in skis that can affect your skiing (and that a good skier can ski on anything). I love how they ask him to describe the distinct differences between the carving skis and the skis he's used to shredding on in the park, like how the tails behave differently and how much stronger his carves are going into jumps. Good video
Try snowboarding one time pls, would love to see it.

Jens this is a freeky FUN video. Great job. I've been watching your basics/carving videos a lot... and it's incredible to see how much more aggressive and energetic your carving gets when you switch from twin tips to these. Really makes me want to go back on carvers again, so thank you! Although I think I'll stick to twins to practice switch, as even though you made it look easy, it would make me feel very nervous for the back of my head! Brilliant video, thanks again, to you and your team.
Really good insightful video. I like your videos for traditional grooming skiers that are moving to off Prost and park free ride. This season I’m moving from carving skis to all mountain powder skis. I’m used to carving fast and am worried I’m going to loss that grip and power I’ve been used to for so many year. I’ve purchased the Salomon XDR-80, fingers crossed I get the best of both worlds. Keep up the great content 👍🏼
These types of videos are awesome man! Love the vibe and the energy of the video and you were having so much fun making it. Keep it up! Shout out from the Canadian east coast!

This guy is literally my skiing IDOL. I have power but get soo nervous as I start gaining speed that I just loose confidence and slow down.
Love it. So glad you got to experience carving. There’s nothing like it.
Wow, amazing intro, sound design. I'm melting from that white snow.. Have to run now, will be back shortly to watch the whole video! Keep it up!
Fun to watch and I’ve been curious about the difference. Thanks for sharing!

Great video! Yea I definitely like this kind of content. I like the variety.
Absolut geil, du zeigst, dass es nicht vom Ski abhängig ist was man machen kann, sondern allein nur von der eigenen Performance!
Excellent! Just shows skill and practice is pretty much the *only* thing that counts.
This video has such a good vibe to it! I love it. Can someone please tell me the song name @ 2:20 ???? THANK YOU :) :)
Excellent hip activation! This guy is a beast on skis!
I have some sweet power skis, but nothing is quite like riding on a hard charging carving stick. I love them all.
Nicely done video, looks like you had fun!!!!!
I love your videos so much, please do more this winter! Maybe some more freeride oriented stuff (if conditions permit)?
You deserve way more views, man. Keep the good work, you are creating great content!
I LOVE THIS FORMAT!!! I was looking for one of these videos for soooooo long(freestyle/park tricks in non twin-tips). Because I have long, stiff, heavy, non twin-tip, carving skis. In which I wanted to learn a tame-dog front flip. I'd appreciate it if you made a video of you doing tricks in longer skis.
What a video! Live the second part with the music and fun and talking
That was fun!! I’ll be going to Austria this Friday ⛷😎 cant wait :)
U r a master of skiing Man!! ❤️🏆🔥
This video was so good 👍👍
We didn't have these tricks in the 80s. All skis were built like this and going backwards was a gamble. Nice to see how the sport has progressed.
Love it so much! I am using carving ski all the time and not dare to get into park cuz I’m afraid it might hurt the base of my skis.
Proud to be a SWEDE 🇸🇪 Fantastic skiing and even more fantastic accent 😃
That was so fun to watch!
In truth, I'm surprised by how good your form is.
oh well, i love that intro! The music and the cut is awesome!
Thank you for this video! First of all it was very cool and satisfying to watch and secondly it alsp gave me confidence! I'vee been skiing on carving skis for like my whole life but the last few years i really wanted to get more into freestyle skiing, but since i always go on skiing holidays with my family i'd rather have carving skis to make longer trips etc, so i was always a little scared to go switch and get into the parks and stuff, but this video has shown me its actually possible to do some basics on carving skis! I will definitely be trying some more things out this year! :)
A good skier can rip on any skis. Proven! Nice video! Thx
love these videos
You're funny, informative and eloquent. Keep it doing what you do! Nice Redsters by the way...
Great one!

The fact that u flipped on carving skies blows my mind haha great video
Jens, please do video on how to tune skis for park :)
Go ski those in the bumps. Super fun.
Good technique translates to any type of skiing. Looked like he was ready for gates when he was carving turns at the beginning.
0:12 Man that shot with the epic music!!! This is better than the Olympic or GoPro heli-skiing stuff. You’ve got a great photographer and editor :)
this was so awesome! when I go to he park on my race carvers I look like a kook!
Nice skiing! Those slalom skis can be nasty sometimes...sproing you up in the air like a trampoline if you get your timing off a bit. But you skied awesome!
COOOOOOL!!!!! 😍😍😍😍
Should try using GS skis next time. ;) Atomic makes the redster g9, in 183cm with a 18 meter turning radius... but for an extra challenge you should try older fischer 183cm with >24 meter radius XD (ps I use the 157 redster slalom(for slalom) and I absolutely love them. They look great, and perform even better.
