    This game's worldbuilding and attention to detail was on some next level. I always liked how in every level, the character looks a bit different, in every chapter he changes his outfit that matches the scenario of that whole chapter. by the end, he would be fully armored in a stitched by stitched outfit, showing how much battles he has been in. seriously IO Interactive doesn't get enough praise for their attention to detail

    No its not hidden gem. Stop using that term just because its just you who discover the game very late. Its pretty much a conventional aaa release back in the day, everybody knew about it, every big game media picked it up and gave it pretty much good reviews. Great game but not hidden gem nor underrated. It grate my nerves that those term is overused nowadays.

    I do wish more games would go back to having some more "arcade-y" systems like inaccurate weapons or enemies surviving headshots, since if you're good enough at aiming (or in a cover shooter where the AI is very predictable), you can definitely get in loop of just headshotting enemies over and over. I got Freedom Fighters with the Steam Release and I appreciate the game being designed to make you not be able to just headshot everyone easily.

  • @MrZiggy-sk2wg

    @MrZiggy-sk2wg

    Жыл бұрын

    the inaccurate weapons made you have to use the environment to your advantage, find alternative pathways, get height advantages, things that you don't really need to do in other games because you can just sit outside the enemy's range and pick them off when they can't shoot you, or just plow right through the path of most resistance and instantly headshot any enemy on a machine gun, making them useless, and snipe snipers with pistols across the map.

    Freedom Fighters will always have a special place in my heart. I often think about this game and the gloomy winter days when I used to play this obsessively with my cousin.

    The “afterthought” of multiplayer/split screen was the most memorable part for me. My dad and I would play so many hours of just that together. Loved loved loved that so much! I even did that by myself from time to time.

    I can't remember exactly, being this wudda been 19 ish years ago...but I think I remember playing this as a demo at Toys R Us... I remember it being gritty and bloody for the game it was back n the day. Also feel like this heavily influenced Mercenaries...

    the level design and the map made this game so good, nothing felt copy pasted and every part of the map felt different.

    Ah 2000's back when games are so diverse and complete, imagine this game having a remake, sequel, or somehow a spiritual successor, that would be hella fun co-op experience.

    You're one of the few reviewers still focusing on games you personally want to talk about, rather than chasing algorithms all the time. That's why I'm still watching your uploads after all these years. I remember renting freedom fighters from blockbusters and staying at a friends where we played it all night passing the controller back and forth. It always stuck with me how the game visually shows progress, just as you said with the player model, underground base etc. Good times.

    Remember playing this a lot when I was around 9-10 years old. Never beat it though unfortunately but watching this video really makes me want to rectify that.

    To this day the reason I remember Freedom Fighters aside from it's fun, unique ( and still kind of to this day) gameplay is the fucking SOUNDTRACK. Jesper blew the music out of the water for this one and it's the reason I remember this game so vividly.

    I’ve played this back in the day on my ps2, as well as on steam. It’s such an amazing and unique game that I wish had more popularity! I had such a fun time sending my team to sections of the map to guard, it made you feel tactical.
