It was so cool hearing the dolphin sonar at the end. Beautiful video!

We go by ourselves and with friends from the island. In the bay where we were there are no sharks; but it is Hawaii, so there are beautiful sharks everywhere! We were lucky enough to see a school of hammerhead sharks swimming on the surface after this dolphin dive, however further away from the island. Incredible!

*Wow! It's like I was swimming too! But how do they hold their breath for so long? It's like they're marine mammals themselves!*

Beautifull play - you inspired me to use my D7000 for my freedive now - with Ikelite. Finally I found the thing (!!), thanks to you guys ;) I bought few days ago the Hero 3 Black as well, lol...and m heading to Abu Dahab, Marsa Alam within 2 weeks for a freedive adventure so even as GoPro newbie, I hope to have some nice footage as well. one of the best months of my life was living on this beach..

search for Bimini island of the Bahamas, swimming with wild Atlantic spotted dolphins. I went there two years ago and it was amazing... In terms of interaction and curiosity of the dolphins it's definitely the best place in the world... (i did some research since it was on my bucket list for many years :P) I heard hawaii is also good (as you can see in the video), but it's probably more difficult to get as much interaction... still, after watching this, I have a new item on my bucket list!

How do you hold your breath for so long? Sweet video! *+* 👍

When we are freediving we are filming footage anywhere from 40 metres to the surface which means that we don't use a filter. What can happen if you are using a filter in the first 5 to 10 metres of depth, the footage can be tinged with red. For Scuba Diving, when you are at a constant depth of 20 metres or so, filters can be very useful to give the footage a warmer hue. However we never use them.... Trial and error - give it a go and see your results! Good Luck!

there is a huge pod of dolphins that regularly swim along the Kohala coast of Big Island, Hawaii, and several excursion boats that will take you out to them. It is quite definitely worth the money! it is amazing experience and a true honor. i hope you get the chance to experience it, too! i've got some footage on my channel, too, from here on Maui. :)

Thanks for the answer, I am looking forward to go deep soon;) I am planning to use with the Hero 3 the Slim Frame Red Glass filter from PolarPro for 3+ depth. It is easy to put on and off and it should add like artificial warm light to the vid, which shouldnt looke much artificial i hope. Any experience with the thing guys?
