After many frustrating attempts to understand the program, I stumbled upon your videos. My 73-year-old brain finally "gets it". Thank you for your hard work. I know how long it takes to put videos together and appreciate your efforts.

Jeff, I have watched a lot of free cad tutorials and I have to say your style is the best to me. You speech is clear and on point and easy to follow. Freecad is not easy to work with please continue. So far you are hands down very good at teaching.

Hello, Jeff. I FINALLY found the perfect CAD program, thanks to you! I've been through LOTS of other videos (and some downloads) and this did it for me (just received my 3D printer a few days ago). Bonus round are the reference images you've included; VERY helpful. You're the best! (ivette)

Great tutorial! So glad I found one that's not 2-years old. Really hard to translate from older versions when you know nothing about the app!

I very much like the way you went thru that, explaining why you were doing what you were doing. For example, stating the problem with the Fillet command where 2 fillets cannot touch and showing us how to use the Pocket tool to get around that. Thank you very much. I'm going to try to spread your channel to other users. I have subscribed and look forward to your next lesson. So far, you are the only one using 0.21.2. Everyone else is using 0.21.1. I'm sure that'll change with time but it's nice to watch a teacher that is using the same version that I am.

I have been 3D printing for some years and always wanted to learn doing simple designs by myself. Al the courses and instructions I could find were always way to technical from the get go. These 2 beginner tutorials are right up my level, thank you ! Subscribed and eagerly awaiting any follow ups should you make any.

Very good tutorial. I'm used to Fusion 360 and this tutorial was particularly good at clarifying how I might adapt my F360 workflow to Freecad. It seems that the Fusion UI inserts an extra layer in the process. In Freecad you say you want to add a vertical (or horizontal, or circle) distance constraint, whereas Fusion lets you select a 'distance' mode and rather cleverly works out (almost always correctly) which particular constraint you want by examining the geometry and your mouse movements. Similarly the Fusion extrude command can map to several different Freecad commands. If I want to move to open-source, I think I could learn to adapt to this "lower level" style.

Great job on the videos. VERY informative and easy to follow. I'm looking to make a 2D design to send to have brackets made on the sendcutsend website. Is there a way to make the main part solid looking and the holes and slots hollow so when I upload laser cutting knows what to cut out? If you know what I mean. Thanks for the vids, please keep it up.

Hi Jeff, Love your tutorial! Question: After closing out of the sketch at 6:34 you then held and dragged the sketch a little bit to the center. How did you do that ? how do you drag the sketch ?? Also, you were able to rotate the design in 3D space like fluidly in Realtime without having to use the 123... and 0 keys How can I do that ?

Like so many other content providers. They start out with great intentions. But never continue. Leaving there followers in limbo just waiting for more great content. It would be nice if we could get some kind of update. Like "i started this as a college project" or "just don't have time to continue". I just think its sad to see when a person has so much to offer just drops off with out a trace. Any way hope and pray all is well. Just concerned when people disappear from KZread.

Hi David, If you select the two points that should be touching, can you then apply a coincident constraint? If one point is attached to the end of a standard line, and the other point is attached the end of an arc, you might need to try the tangent constraint. Let me know if you're still running into problems with that.

FreeCAD is still a bit clunky to use. They should stop worrying about features and focus on user interface, unifying ALL tools from multiple different workbenches that are overlapping or should belong together into one or two workbenches and squish bugs... I think the projects already feature rich as it is, they just need to make it simpler and faster to use.

Why don't you start by explaining Freecad, what I see on my screen the panels, navigation, you know like basic stuff. You that your going to workbench what the hell is a work bench, where is it, what is it, what they do and why. I have been doing drafting and 2D cad for 30 years and I don't have aclue what your saying or doing just like all the online cad tutorials, all in a hurry to make You Tube money.
