Free Will Versus Predestination and Why Choices Matter

Free Mini-Course ⇒ www.borderpoint.com
One of the most challenging concepts to reconcile is that of the concurrent existence of both free will and choice in contrast with predestination and the already established divine will of God.
In this video, I share how these two seemingly mutually exclusive paradigms are both simultaneously true, and that this is only possible through the transcendent and divine power of Allah Almighty.
By learning how to completely and fully embrace personal responsibility while at the same time learning to surrender outcomes to the will of God, we learn how to cultivate the subtle and sublime balance that the straight path of spiritual excellence requires.

The mind, when being run by the ego, causes tremendous mental and emotional suffering... when we have enough faith to surrender the ego, and thus surrender to God, most, if not all, of that suffering vanishes... this, is Mercy

Every possible outcome has been written and destined each situation can have multiple paths and outcomes. We use our free will to choose which path we take. Nothing can happen that is not already written.

@zakirbaig9447 Allah Knowledge encompasses all things in every moment at every point and every possible time line. But that does not take away your freewill. If you watched a movie and then you watch it again you know the decision the characters of that movie will take. Yet those characters still made those choices without your interference.

@@greengardens1565 thanks for the resposne. yes but if I was the creator of that movie, I would influence it or at least know what is going to happen. Why would I let the actors act if I already knew? I'm extremely sorry if I sound blasphemous. My intention is nothing but to understand this better.

As I mention in this video, Allah Almighty is Infinitely Great, and His power is not limited in the same way that mutually exclusive possibilities negate one another in the physical world. With His knowledge and in His power, these seemingly contradictory truths are both simultaneously true. Allah Almighty knows best, and may He guide to what is best. Ameen.

Have you heard of Compatibilism? I think it explains how everything can be determined, yet we are responsible for our actions, given that we are true persons

I also heard a spiritual coach say the same which Ihsan said when he explained how the pen is dried and Allah has written everything That coach said that basically creation is finished but there are infinite timelines or dimensions(states of mind) that can be changed instantly if you instantly change the thoughts So this means ,that yes creation is finished but you can select the reality that you want(free will) I hope this explains anything Again, this is from a spiritual coach not from anyone who practices islam

Thank you for sharing, Lola. This is actually a topic I discuss in more detail in the Mastering the Law of Attraction course in the training module entitled, The Power of Possibilities, www.borderpoint.com/lawofattraction. Everything and all possibilities exist within Allah Almighty's divine knowledge, and He is Infinitely Great. To your divine and eternal success.

continual repentance is the only way to stay sane God allows us to 'choose' our destiny, making a gift of destiny to us in different forms and ways until we see that we must good-humouredly submit to his truth and that this is freedom for us (and feels like freedom)

Peace be upon you. I seek refuge in Allah from being misguided and misguiding others. Sir, I have one question. I truly believe everything you said. I even can comprehend to some extent. About freewill and predestination. My question is how does my freewill and actions matter when Allah is all-knowing and knows what I will choose? Even with the freewill Allah has given us, he knows what we will choose right? And by knowing that, what is the point of life?

Brother Ihsan, maybe I am bothering you with questions but I am so so interested in expanding knowledge. I just wanted to ask you is it true that infinite versions of us exist, like...there can be a me that is broke, a me that is average, a me that is wealthy I learned this in a video when a man said that dimensions are not what people think you know to physically go somewhere but they are states of mind If so, why are people manifesting and not just material things but also people Thank you so much for your videos and I appreciate every single video that you make❤ Oh,yes and what about thought transmittion? Thank you❤

Brother Ihsan, would you say that Allah's knowledge also encompassed which of them would offer repentance and which would not? Please elaborate, as I believe that often creates confusion regarding the freedom to truly choose. Something that was already destined to be appears to negate real free will.

Allah's knowledge does not negate our freewill. He has written based on our choices. But He is the one who writes as nothing happens without his permission.

You are the only muslim teacher who explains this with quantum physics. There is no past, present, future outside of our time / space reality, hence everything appears predestined to us but it's all in the 'now outside of our realm ( I think 🤔.. based on my limited knowledge so far.. have to stay humble and keep seeking 😇). Fact that we are given free will and held accountable for it, means our choices play a hand in what is destined.. similarly choices of the collective and those in power too, as their choices affect multitudes and generations of living beings. Angels do as they are commanded to, but I deduce they have opinions, evidenced in their comment to God upon the creation of Adam. Also in the Quran it says many generations far more advance than us were destroyed after Noah, and Allah can do this again. He perfected His creation with Adam (ie mankind).. but we are far from living up to that. DNA alterations in ancient times stumped our lifespan, as one example. Hence, why earlier prophets lived hundreds of years and we don't even make it to 100. (I credit Billy Carson's ancient civilizations talks to making that connection).

Hello dear Brother Ihsan. I wanted to ask a question about past lives and reincarnation. I know that the belief of religion (Islam) is that, there is no reincarnation. I wanted to hear your thoughts on this topic, seeing from a spiritual and deeper standpoint. Somehow spiritually has become a trendy and so many false information is being spread and some illumination on this topic would be a big help for the ones who seek the truth. I am doing my research but somehow I don’t get a conviction for the heart… I really hope you could help. Thank you for your contribution and great service. May Allah bless you and your family.

Salaams and peace Alma. It is a question that comes up often, and I will intend to do a longer video on the subject, insha-Allah. However, let me just say for now that even if such a thing were true as it is typically understood, Islam is meant to lead to liberation :-) May God guide to goodness. Be well and blessed.
