    Dear Ashley, I’m a new guy to knitting and gave my first ever project (your Hillside V-Neck Cardigan) to my significant other. And I also managed to finish the Openlands Shawl collar cardigan. I really wanted to try this particular pattern next for a friend. I just wanted to ask, if there’s is a possibility to knit this cardigan from the top as I prefer the look of the “pre-made” sleeves. Anyways, I really like your way of making it so easy to get into knitting and explaining everything multiple times. Thanks so much and keep up your great work! All the best from Germany 🇩🇪

Can you let us know how this yarn wears with regular use and washing?

    Hi, I love the way you are guiding every step of the way in your video. I’m a beginner in sweaters and so glad I found your video. So I have a question. I did both the front panels and while starting the ribbing I started with a knit stitch. So While starting the back ribbing too I started with a knit stitch just like I did for the front panels. Now, I checked the video and realised that you have started the ribbing with a purl stitch for the back. Would that make a difference ?when seaming the sides?

  • @AshleyLillisKnits

    @AshleyLillisKnits

    11 ай бұрын

    Hi there! It shouldn't make too much of a difference for seaming... Seaming ribbing looks the best when you seam a knit stitch to a purl stitch instead of two of the same stitches.

  • @rhondaoswalt8901
    @rhondaoswalt8901 Жыл бұрын

    This is a fabulous tutorial!! Thank you so very much for sharing your work! I noticed during the video that you don't work the set up row of purls (as in your written pattern download - Set up Row (WS): P to end) after any of your ribbings. You simply knit 3 inches of rib and then immediately begin with row 1 of the staggered eyelet stitch. Please advise. Thanks.

    Well I started this last year as a beginner and I ran out of yarn and unfortunately it’s discontinued (I have been looking all this time😢) So do I buy a contrasting colour and mix it up making different colour bits and put them together OR do I just undo it and knit something new like a scarf or blanket 🤨 Shame as I only had one more sleeve to do and pick up the edges and sew together. I did it in pink so I was thinking lilac one side panel one in pink or something along those lines 😊

    Thank you so much for this free pattern what a blessing! I am really confused about the cast on amount. I got the same answer as you did, 20 stitches. How did ‘divisible by 4 + 5” get you 21 cast on stitches, please? That seems more like ‘divisible by 4 + 1’? 20 stitches is already divisible by 4. If you add 5, that would be 25 cast on stitches. I’ve included centimeters in the pattern measurements and you can just swap out the 4in for 10cm!

    You could! Just check your gauge - it won’t be as wide most likely!

    How would I figure how many yards of yarn to use? Each ball I have is 167 yds and I’m using a 6 mm needle. I am going to do a size 4

    I don't understand this. "For example, if you’re a 37 in/94 cm bust, a size 2 or 3 would be appropriate." Size one starts at 40" bust. Size two is a 44" bust. I'm sorry - how would size 2 (44") or 3 (48") be appropriate for a 37" bust??

    Hi there! It’s supposed to have that much positive ease. You don’t want the sweater to fit tight around your bust….

    Did you edit this? If you had you would have noticed a lot of contact was “shown” off camera. Very difficult to watch.

    Hi Mary! As you can imagine, it is very difficult to knit close up so you can see what I’m doing and keep the work in frame 100 percent of the time. I did my best at filming and editing and am always striving to get better…. I offer my content for free so I hope you enjoy the pattern!
