Hi, I’m on video #4 listening to you while I’m at work. I think you are going the right speed for me. It’s a lot of information to grasp & retain at our old age. So thank you so very much for putting this out there for us seniors. I just turned 65, so I’m learning all that I need to learn before I file . Also, I think you are funny at just the right times. Just wanted to give you some appreciation. GOD BLESS

I only have the Indian Health Clinic for my healthcare- I do not belong to a Federal Tribe which is required to receive free healthcare but I qualify for the lower level benefits like this clinic which suffices me. I like that I am not on Medicaid, which now charges hundreds of dollars per month whether it's used or not since it's now tied to a Healthcare company. Years ago I read on the Centers for Medicaid/Medicare or the Indian version of that it only costs taxpayers $50 a month to be on the rolls. I saw a Doctor 3 years ago for COVID and I go to my dental cleanings but that's it. My clinic is called Chapel De Indian Health Clinic in Grass Valley. It's a non-profit so we are allowed to donate to them too.

You mentioned community classes. That's an opening for you to teach what you do here to us. Our community college is called Sierra College. Their Kaleidoscope is the paper version of their community? classes. They already have someone teaching Medicare Planning for the high cost of blah blah ...and Social Security Planning...there are more words but I'd have to go back to the PDF to find it and my memory is limited. The charge is $35 each. These are one day classes on Saturdays. Just a thought. Thank you so much for doing all of these videos, the knowledge is amazing. There is no one on KZread with more expertise

I just found your channel and I am binge-watching as I recently retired. Thank you for your expertise! I hope these tips are ok to post. Homestead Act tax discount on home/land is available at county tax offices in some places. Also, some counties reduce taxes after age 65. There are also some tax breaks for Veterans. You have to ask at your tax office! They do not just ask you. I always ask if there's a senior discount when we go to restaurants. Even small places may have discounts. You have to ask! Grocery stores may have a senior day. My local one is Wednesday and a 5% discount is taken if you ask. Any way to keep extra money in the pocket is good during retirement.

Excellent information! Btw, I was scammed several years ago when I got a call from the supposed IRS, and the reason I believe them is because I did owe taxes and the amount that they quoted was almost exactly the same as what I owed according to a mailing that I got a few months prior. I was absolutely terrified and I did send money through a gift card and I greatly regret it thankfully it wasn't a huge amount but it was big enough that I would like it back

He was notified of an assessment and was deemed unable to get his benefits any longer. However, he has been showing many signs of regression, especially socially. He has had trouble finding and keeping @ good job because of it.

Thank you so much for all the information!!! I turned 65 November 2023. In 2022 I made almost no money. I sold my house in 2021. I bought another house and have been living on the savings ever since. When they calculate my part b premium will it be based on my 2022 return or 2021? I’m scared 😅

You should be good. The extra premium for Medicare Part B looks back 2 years. So your timing looks to be good. You might have to pay the extra premium for Nov and Dec. But that depends on a few variables. Give my Medicare team a call and they can review your situation individually. 888-817-0446

It's the upfront part that is tough. They are healthy...and an extra $100+ and the $174 for Part B premium...on a monthly budget of $1900...they just can't do it. So they just do what they can do now and hope they don't get really sick later.

Like his video short link says...it's automatic, don't have to do anything. Also check and see if you can do EITC (Earned Income Tax Credit), for working. I filed the last time I worked and got enough money to get a better running computer.😊
