Feel out the rhythm. Always start wit a sample, pick a tempo n start building your drums 🥁 I usually start wit my snares to have something to follow. Something simple like 1/4th or 1/8th on every other bar .

Start by sampling Melody first, then doing drums. Or if you already have a melody you can sample drums. Or you can do it like the old school producers and sample them both. Drums are the most important and defining feature in every genre. Try to find old school drum breaks and make sure the Snare falls on beat 2 and 4 of a bar. If you don’t know what that is learn about bars/measures, rhythms, and 4/4 time
