Sir Gerald Lightsekker is the best for me. He has high hp, high defense( at high level, and even at like 4 he has medium) and good suport ability. And at level 10 he blocks with his shield like 17 times in 20 atacks. And that ability completely blocks damage.

That's not a block it returns damage to enemy while he didn't take any damage

For me Malik is the favorite. You can leave him with a croud of enemies and his stuns and aot will deal with most

Ignus is in my opinion the best hero in the game ...he is really good against crowds of enemies because of his first ability that he uses every few seconds. With his second ability(healing) he is able to stand against strong enemies for a longer time. By the way he is made of fire so he doesnt take damage through the burning ground at the levels with demons

Hacksaw is the best hero it's not even close. His insta-kill ability is insane and he's a pretty good tank.

He is a melee fighter, so that means bandits can dodge his attacks which sucks

Sir Gerald is the best here with his ability to block all damage from an attack and buffing damage for your troops. You can use him to stall the big giants like forest trolls or other enemies that don't instantly kill your troops so that you have less problems until you kill the little ones

The only reason I really like malik is that there's a ability that stuns enemy's around him and that helps when a lot of enemy are with him also in my opinion hacksaw and ignus and oni are the best oni able to do magic damage helping a bit in the Blackburn campaign ignus because in the demon levels he's not restricted to Parts without the fire floor and hacksaw because he has a insta kill ability a ranged ability that can attack multiple enemy's and high armor the only problem I see with hacksaw is that he's slow that's not all that bad unless and enemy's near the end point and you need to send a hero to kill him

Actually Oni deals true damage, a form of damage that can't be blocked by both armor and magic resistance.

They are OP but paid ones are even more *OP* :(

I finished the game getting all the stars with Alleria only. I love her mobility and ranged attacks. The fastest heroine, very versertile, she saved a few rounds when many flying enemies came.

Yeahwhen i used malk hammerfurry i best the second snow level with no lives lost 3 max barbarian halls a max mage tower and a big bertha

For levels with lots of ranges or flying enemies I'll use her. I also prefer her against bosses with instakills as she can kite them
