I think you said something about romantic comedies. If so and you haven't seen it, I recommend "Definitely, Maybe" with Ryan Reynolds. If you can handle the crude humor, Van Wilder is a favorite of mine. His character is loosely based on Bert Kreisher, the comedian.

This isn't a good movie, this is a GREAT MOVIE!

Free Guy is one of my all-time comfort films. I love it so much, especially the third act.

This was such an unexpected gem. So much heart for a movie that seemed to have a very silly premise. That moment at the end where Milly finally "gets it" feels so well earned.

This move was far deeper and more entertaining than it had any right to be. Such a fun, satisfying ride.

Fun fact, when Millie repels down in the alley to get the game clip, that person she's talking to is Hugh Jackman. And the player Ryan's character takes the glasses from is Dwayne Johnson.

This was the last movie I seen in theaters watching it with my dad before he passed away with cancer in 2021

2:24 voice cameo from Hugh Jackman, later on the bank robber Guy takes the glass from is another voice cameo by Dwayne Johnson.

Despite it being a fun movie it was surprisingly deep. There's a lot of philosophy hidden in it. Basically the Cave Analog of Platon is taken to an extreme here. And THAT one was a really, really old philosopher. Later philosophers touching on similar concepts have theorized on different aspects. So despite the seemingly whimsical premise of a game world NPC suffering from a sudden moment of indepence and intelligence is a great analogy for our own life. And it asks the question: how deep, or rather, how high does the next layer of the simulation go? Are we the last level, or does it go further?

Ryan Ryan Reynolds is the man, I’ve loved in tv series from Canada in the late 90’s, even when he played an evil character he had charisma

This movie is surprisingly wholesome and infinitely rewatchable! I also find it weirdly inspiring because I LOVE a good level-up movie :)

Aside from the utter brutality and judicious use of "fuck" and such...yeah, it's weirdly pretty wholesome.

The movie "If" is basically the live action of Foster's Home form imaginary friends

Between Deadpool and Free Guy, I am so looking forward to his new movie IF. Ryan Reynolds is movie gold.

I dug this movie significantly more than I expected. Off you haven’t seen The Hitmans Bodyguard (and the sequel Hitmans Wife’s Bodyguard) they are fun. You Ryan & Sam Jackson playing off each other. Super entertaining!

First time I watched this movie i was blown away

I remember going to see it in the cinema the Captain American Sheild and the Chris Evans cameo moment made me laugh out loud great reaction Liala.❤

This one and Barbie make for an awesome double feature.

Have another vote for The Voices, very much a Ryan Reynolds movie, while at the same time, so very different to what you would expect from him.

This movie was directed by the same guy who did the movie Real Steel with the one and only Hugh Jackman you'll also like that movie.

Love this flick, i really connected with it. You know some flicks are made for many, than there are some that it really targets. Pleased to be aimed at.

The head of the company is Taika Watiti. He directed Thor Ragnarök and played Korg, the rock fella!

It ain't good because it's about video games, it's a good move that happens to be about video games. What makes it great is that it does video game references justice in a clever funny way. Everyone loves a good movie including gamers and there are a lot of gamers out there who don't want to see their other hobby/past time done wrong again as it happens way too often. The good stuff gets to the top shelf pretty quick, this is one of those. Seems like Ryan Reynolds has a talent for under the mainstream radar pop culture stuff that deserves to be better known. I'm sure he's an actual fan of that stuff which would greatly help do the material justice.

A VERY unknown but enjoyable Ran Reynolds movie is called Fool Proof and it is a heist movie.

The frustrating thing about this movie was that I loved so much of the incidental music, and can't find all of it.

The cover is actually sung by the actress, but only the refrain. The music of the memories and the coffee scene is from the short Paper Man. That one will definitely get you in the feels but in a good way.

This movie was as big a surprise to me as Into the Spiderverse. Epic.

When I watched this movie the first time, I went home, thought about it, and wondered if it was only made so Ryan Reynolds can have someone punch him in the face a lot. Because it happens A LOT in this movie.

Fun fact: The robber he shoots in the bank to get the glasses the first time was played by The Rock and the girl playing the game was Taika Waititi's daughter.

The girls ("He's just an NPC, waste that motherfu--") are the director's (Shawn Levy's) kids.

"Ready, Player One" has a similar NPC theme, but with an even bigger budget

Suggested Ryan Reynolds movie: The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard! It's funny but also Reynolds plays a character different from any other he's done. So many people noticing all the tiny details, but one hardly noticed at the end is when she realizes who Blue Shirt Guy means, that her partner knew her so well & had fallen in love with her. Then when she catches up with him at the coffee shop, you see that he's also wearing a blue shirt. And not just a pale blue but a deep blue, because Guy was modeled after him, making Blue Shirt Guy a "pale imitation" of him, to start with anyway (since Guy grows & becomes more when the AI becomes sentient). The partner's shirt is a deeper blue because he's "real".

I actually liked Green Lantern...although not a fan of the villains they chose to appear in the movie. I realize this is a minority opinion but the fault was not with Ryan or the special effects but of the script.
