Makes sense. The free food trick I always used since I was a kid was at the deli at the gas station or the one at the grocery store. Once they were getting ready to close the deli, they'd give you whatever is in there or at the very least it'd be heavily discounted and you'd get a lot. Like a big bag of burritos, pizza sticks, etc for like $2. Good times. I wish more places did stuff like that instead of throwing it away.

I've gotten free pizza from Little Caesars before closing while I was doordashing, now it's the only pizza place I'll ever go to lol. Mad respect for all the Caesars employees out there

I went to a subway 20 minutes before closing and got like 10 cookies that were all broken and I think that was the highlight of my life

I can’t speak for everybody, but my brother used to work at Subway and I got free food all the time not to mention everybody else liked me so and if it was during closing time, he would always give me a free cookie because he said they had to throw them out next day anyways

woaahhh those are so many free samples!!!

We got Tim Hortons in Canada, I once went in for an ice cap and chocolate donut and the lady gave a dozen for the price of one. Never see that sort of generosity now. Can’t have good things I guess.

I walked into a into at closing time and I was wearing a similar style of uniform as the employees and they gave me all the expiring food and we all went upstairs and talked it was great

People who have been watching since before 2022

Back years ago when I worked at WM (2008) we had a Subway, and I worked overnights. They had a 6" Italian bread that they gave me cos they didn't want to keep it til morning since it was cut. I only went in to see if they had any cookies left, which they did & I bought the last 4 chocolate chunk. They gave them all to me for $2. So it wasn't free, but it was well worth it!! 😃
