Dark inside my house I'm looking for the light, the walls are getting closer I know I need to fight, self esteem low I feel like I'm losing my mind, standing up straight the world is trying to bend my spine, I know I don't deserve it but reality doesn't exist by who's right, so I try my best to smile while my wounds close tight, I know I can do it this isn't my first time, I guess it's a reminder to appreciate my life, it was sunny for so long I forgot the clouds in the sky, it's pouring on me now but my hope is on the rise, I know each storm brings more than meets the eye, resilient to the bone I've made it through every tough night, I won't be stopped now my ladder goes higher in height, slipping a couple steps ain't gonna change my mind, I'll get it out the mud till I'm walking on marble that shines, even then I don't doubt it'll get dirty at times, that's just how it goes I'd be dumb to think otherwise, so keep your head up and double up your pride, stick your chest out and keep it real wide, you can do anything you want as long as you don't hide, take your hits proudly and learn from times that make you cry
