I am not even finished with the video and I must say, this is the best tutorial for beginner studio photographers I have seen. I have been shooting studio work for years and only recently opened my own studio after years of renting by the hour so sessions. I will recommend beginners and established shooters watch this, twice. It took me years to become effective in getting what is desired but this video represents years of self-discovery. Nothing new was presented since the fundamentals are well established but the great advantage of this video is the way it was presented, in a way that is accessible to everyone. It is not common for a skilled practitioner in any field to be able to explain it to others with such clarity and smoothly. Good work. I just hope my competition does not see this:>)

What a lovely and elegant model. She must be a ballet dancer, they are the only models i have worked with that can remain that still and composed for so long. One thing I have learned over the years as that for a model sitting there for that long it would help her greatly to have an apple box under her feet to even out her sitting position. For me the 6" box worked the best and looks like it would be perfect for her. If you look at how she had to keep her feet bent for that whole session, that could be alleviated by the support and she will appreciate you for it. Kudo's for using a light meter. It drives me bonkers seeing these videos on lighting and they say you don't need a meter and spend several minutes each shot guessing exposure. Also it is the only way to truly get ratio lighting. People will spend thousands on cameras and lenses yet won't spend a few hundred on a good meter. Shame on them. So well done. Thanks for the time spent on accuracy, especially nailing the hot spots when even using a modifier. Folks talk about feathering but don't explain it well. Maybe they don't understand it so well, so you guys did a great job on that part.

Chris. I did not know that the natural light I have been using for the last 40 years had names and that you can create it so subtle. After 40 years of photojournalism I stepped in another game. More portraits and some coorperate work and this workshop helped me a lot to understand my Profoto B10 set and my shapers. It is very well explained not too much not to litllebut just right and above all very modest. I love the fact you make it look easy, as a matter of fact, it is. You only need to know what you are looking for. As a matter ofm fact you just need to look very carefully and it is right in front of you. Thank you a lot, Jerry Lampen, Rotterdam, Netherlands.

Wow! This was really a great tutorial on shaping light and more of interest for me, the affects of the various light modifiers and how they shape the light. Well done, thank you.

I know this has been said a lot in the comments already but this video is amazing, it's literally thousands of KZread videos condensed down into one extremely informative video. I've spend hours taking notes and rewinding. I guess when Lindsay Adler is the the assistant you know the video is going to be fire, lol. Thank you for this!!!!!!
