Thank you for all your videos. I have a question about James, the brother of Jesus. Wouldn't he be considered an apostle? I'm looking at 1 Corinthians 18:7.

In 1 Corinthians 15:7 Paul says that Jesus appeared to James who was His physical brother as well as the author of the epistle of James. Various individuals were referred to as Apostles in the New Testament letters since the word simply meant “one who is sent” (ie. Barnabas Acts 14:14). However, when referring to the Apostles personally selected by Jesus they were referred to as “the” Apostles since these were a specific group. - MM
