FREE! 3D Printed Adjustable Watch Movement Holder - Thingiverse

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

This is an adjustable 3D printable watch movement holder by Thingiverse creator Mr Roomba.
I have no affiliation with said gent but found the thingi shared on a group, (possibly amateur watchmaking?) on facebook and while I had the 3D printer running for another thing I needed to make I thought i'd slice and print one to try it and I have to say it's quite impressive and handy for anyone perhaps starting out.

It's a good holder, but maybe is too big and is better for pocket watches. Great instrument spidy

I'm not sure if it would be sturdy enough for a pocket watch movement but I guess in theory it could be made with a smaller diameter or thicker posts. The design isn't mine though but it's interesting.

Ps the .stl loads into the slicer as a single piece. Not two parts. Thanks.

OH wow! well this is a shocker I'm suprised anyone made my model! Now I feel bad, I meant to upgrade that model significantly a while ago with a fourth leg and a few other things and completely forgot. I gotta work on that some more lol.

This is your creation? Nice. Please let me know if you make any changes and I'll try it. I did get the arms lengthened a little to give more clearance but it's pretty good.

@@spidiq8 Thank you for the kind words! I'll see if I can get it upgraded tonight. I'll also upload the step files to make it easier to modify for anyone who's interested in that.

@@spidiq8 Update you ya man! I got the finished model done that same night, but unfortunately it took a few days for me to test and ensure it works due to my printer acting up and not printing right. I'm currently uploading the upgraded and tested model now. If you have any suggestions for it might be improved further I'd be more than happy to try them out!

Hi, looks great. Which way did you print it and where did you put the supports please? I just tried printing it standing on edge with manual tree supports under the (now 4) prongs that hold the movement down to the build plate on my X1 Carbon and the two parts are fused together 😮. Cheers.

very neat. I think i'll print one. BTW I recently switched from Cura to Prusa and I'm getting better quality prints.

Thanks, is that a free slicer software? I've used cura ever since I got my Ender 3 and it's been ok but always open to try new software.
