I am glad Mary refused to allow the movie to be filmed at Garden Lodge. Garden Lodge was their safe place, their home. There is a level and a line of respect still for Freddie and his memory and his wishes. Mary deserves and preserves the right to privacy as it is now her home. I am sure Freddie would not have wanted any public taping in the home. She did the right thing. I enjoyed the movie but I enjoy listening to you Peter more. You were his friend and knew him best !

Couldn’t agree more about not needing to see Freddie’s last months over and over again. Bless him, he was so much more than his end, it’s all the rest that matters, not how we all lost him far too soon (other than the spotlight it turned onto finding a cure for AIDS that is). From everything I have heard and seen of him, Freddie wouldn’t want to be remembered that way anyhow - he did it big, he did it loud and he did it best. Always! Looking forward to the film, very much. So appreciate Peter sharing all this. ❤️

I think not portraying the final years is a big mistake. I hope they do in a later film. There was so much love and strength in the final years of the band. Wonderfull music, the best videos they ever did, all of this while working against the clock. I think if properly worked it would have been a bitter sweet part, but beautiful anyway, like all the history of the band. They only need to put the focus on their creative efforts, which is exactly what the band did in the day.

Having had a short commercial filmed in my home for ONE day....I fully understand Mary’s reluctance to allow filming in her home. It was a real invasion, not just for my family and home, but for all our neighbors who had to put up with blocked streets, no parking, noise, etc. At the end of the day, the interior of our house had plenty of scratched and gouged walls and floors, camera track and tape marks, and 2 broken windows... sure they paid for the repairs because there was an insurance policy, but it was months until our home was fully restored at great inconvenience. And some of our neighbors are still unhappy about the impact on their lives that day. Mary made the right call.

"The crowdsurfing was not planned. Rami just did it on the spur of the moment, and he got into huge trouble with Health & Safety and the stunt people..." That just makes it that much better, because I feel like Freddie would've done that at some point. And considering the amount of research Rami did in order to "become" Freddie, I could totally see Rami sort of channeling him and thinking, 'You know what, Freddie would've done this, and it looks fun. YEET' I dunno. Just a thought.

Evidently many of them had to lie about this - and still do - and so they should ! But I am sorry to say that the film IS more accurate, when it comes to Freddie knowing his health status before Live Aid, than anyone has ever been told. - Including Phoebe. Bless him.

@@borntowin6931 I do want to clarify though. Jim was HIV positive. If Freddie thought that Jim was going to die it really makes no sense to leave his fortunes to Jim. He did leave all his loved ones 500000 pounds which isnt a minimal amount.

Freddie adored her. He was smitten with her beauty at first and that matured into a deep abiding love over many years. It was a private relationship. He left her almost all of his wealth, and his home and cats because he promised her that he would take care of her for the rest of her life...not just his. She continues to protect his home.

I was watching a Rami's interview and he said Mary read an sign out the script , so let's be happy she agreed with the movie. I don't know how theses rights and royalties work but I wonder if she hasn't agreed there would be no movie since she own all Freddie's rights and royalties?

I am glad the movie ended when it did. I know how he died but I don’t need to see him dying. I am also glad the movie didn’t go to deep into the gay nightlife, the bars and all. We all know he was gay,bi, whatever you want to call it. Again, I didn’t need to see it. I don’t know what Mary’s deal is as I don’t know her but I did read Jim’s book and I thought it was a good book. I haven’t read peters book but I will. I see no disrespect towards Freddie by either of them. And yes Mary did give interviews as well. The movie was great even if the timelines weren’t always correct.
