@@NikiokoIn Sydney , 1988, a ward in st Vincent’s hospital , protected with heavy plastic blinds , with a contamination control, 8 beds, 8 men gaunt, eyes sunken with darkness inside of sockets. Eyes white , staring into a abyss’s of pure pain, sores all over from head to toe, the crying , the agony, the outreaching arms for someone to hold onto, fear, not to die alone, no family or friend to help ease the tortured mind and soul, it reigned every aspect of that ward, impregnated its ugliness, prejudice, ignorance, incapacity to think, past what was not understood, no one was to enter. Walking past the isolation barrier to the small kitchen , attention brought ti my eye by a male, holding out to my presence. I walked closer. Tears flowed so heavy, have I glimpsed into the terrors of the past, malnourished, bony sunken bodies, pressing against the glass barrier the overwhelming feeling to help, weak with shock , I was taken back to my bed. Morning sickness overcame me, for the 2 days prior to transfer, those men, have never ever left the images imprinted. 24 weeks in another hospital, gave birth to a girl, 15 years later, I took part in a research study into AIDS. Back in time at HIV arrival in Sydney, the fear was incomprehensible, the adverts on TV, the grim reaper. .. on it went creating fear havoc and homophobia. To such a scale, men couldn’t walk the streets, fear of gang retaliation, Never forget how or why, it was not Easy to be open of AIDS, it was safer to be kept hidden. I understand this. I’ve seen First hand the decline of My children’s friends, would Not wish the suffering on anyone. How Freddy Mercury went on, there is to me No explanation. That yet he did, what many could not have, pushed through until his body was taken so cruelly. I had the honour of been at Live Aid, queen never had he gave so much of them Selves. Freddie in all his glory at the frontman. Led to a incomparable stage performance that will never be Matched. Magnetising the entire stadium , he as one with his fans, God Rest his soul. His voice is my favorite. When I hear Freddie, I have to stop and listen to him. A few years ago, it was Freddie's bday and I had been sitting with my dog and I played Under Pressure without the music, so just the vocals. My dog fell in love with Freddie that day and I play it for him, too calm him when we go to the vet. Like mother, like dog. Freddie just had such a unique and glorious voice. He will always be my favorite singer of all time. Always an entertainer and fearless. I wish I could go back in time and see him in concert. Especially Love Aid. That's another of my dog's favorite. I have this ridiculous fantasy where some sort of time traveller from the future goes back in time and explains to FM (or maybe to Roger to tell him sensitively) the need for FM to take extreme personal care in his interactions with others, and that that knowledge saves his health & life. I say that with great love and respect; just reflecting the absolute horror of the illness and its limited understanding in those earlier times. Maybe the time traveller would have a photograph a bit like this video where the illness has advanced somewhat. I imagine so many of us would be shocked to see our own futures. He was a brave, noble, hardworking and talented man, right until the end.

Of course he looks awful, and yes AIDS is brutal, its like cancer, it shows no mercy, it slowly eats your body destroying everything, you literally are a skeleton before you die, my Dad passed away with aides, i stayed with him the last two weeks of his life, it was very sad to see him whither away, and so much pain, I feel sorry for what Freddie had to go thru, it’s an awful death…😢

I loved Queen in HS. My dad raised me listening to amazing groups like Led zeppelin, Queen, The Who etc. So in 92'' in High school when Wayne's World came out everyone actually started appreciating them as much I did being raised listening to them. I was on the Homecoming Committee and I chose this as our Senior Year Homecoming song. Was also on the Softball team so when our bus pulled into away games all the windows were down and the bus was rocking to We Will Rock You and We are the Champions. Ultimate intimidation method. We still lost cuz we absolutely sucked but damn did we feel so bad ass.

What an amazing man you were, artist, performer and the best front man any band could ever have. This last album was, I believe, one of your best, as it was so full of emotion throughout. To think at the point the video was made, you were 4 months away from passing and 7 years from the new antivirals for aids.... god bless Freddie, sure you're rocking it up there

Seeing him pull together every bit of strength to say goodbye and send his love to his fans is heart rendering. We will always love you Freddie 💕
