I read that Peter was frustrated because he could tell that Freddie’s health was obviously failing (and he probably suspected AIDS,since at this time they’d had so many friends with it/who had died from it) …but Freddie wouldn’t confide in him what was going on. (We know that Fred only told a small handful of confidants… I guess everyone else around him,must’ve just respected his wishes to not talk about what was happening.) There was - supposedly - a “falling out” of sorts between the two, just because maybe Peter was hurt that Fred wouldn’t confide in him.
