Freddie Mercury Exercises In Free Love

Музыка

When Freddie first met Caballé on March 1987, he brought in a piece he and Mike Moran had composed called "Exercises In Free Love," to which Caballé added lyrics and became "Ensueno" later on.

Freddie's fantastic fans, the truly loyal ones that love him for everything he gave us, and he gave his best until the end, will not put up with any garbage spewed by those who are malicious and obviously do not appreciate Freddie for his generosity and gifts to his music fans, his friends & foes alike. I wish everyone could carry on with the grace and love of life that he showed the world! He will always be remembered as the best singer/frontman there ever was, and no one can deny him that!

'"This is me, pretending to be you" Freddie told Montserrat.' 'She listened to it very carefully. Then she exclaimed, "Is this for me? It's beautiful. I would really like to perform it... And you'll play the piano!"' I would not have come across this beautiful piece of music if not for the book: The Freddie Mercury Story by David Bret.( had so much fun reading it ) It also accounts how Freddie and Montserrat Caballé met. How Exercises in Free Love was composed by both Freddie and Mike Moran in Moran's studio at 3 o'clock in the morning when both were pissed. "I'll pretend I'm a soprano like Montserrat Caballé " 'Then he started warbling in this falsetto style, and we got the framework of a song..." Mike Moran recounts. I'm already a huge Mercury fan, my admiration and love for Freddie continue to grow every-time I watch another Freddie's performance or interview. This song is completely new to me. It's so raw and haunting. I can almost feel Freddie's presence.I want to cry.

really? I'm a Queen fan too, but i would never compare him to any classical composer, they are in a different level of greatness, that no modern musicians would achieve never again. The real epicness of music finished on 1930 - 1950 with the last classical composers, but anyway these songs are great to listen. PD: I don't like Mozart to much, i prefer Beethoven, and vivaldi would be my fav personal composer.

In spring 1987 he'd found out that he was definitely HIV positive, he did some testing before, around 1985, but was negative (maybe fake negative). In that time he already knew that few of his ex lovers had AIDS. This is not important, Freddie should rest in peace, he deserves respect. Lots of young people are talking about Freddie but they don't know true facts. He and his music changed my life, and I can't image world without Queen and his beautiful voice, performances, and melodies. QUEEN!!

@DjSO4 I know Freddie's voice.... This song is all Freddie, he had a four octave rance, and could sing higher notes than alot of women.... Even Monserrat Caballet, an operatic soprano with a voice that Freddie fell in love with, said that Freddie sang soprano.... His response to her comment was to blush deeply at the wonderful compliment.... Lots of people would think that it's a woman's voice in some of his songs, solo and with Queen.... Sorry I disagree. Elvis is nowhere Freddie's equal. I'm not sure in what way. Also, Elvis did not write any of his own songs; Freddie wrote all of them. When i heard Crazy Little Thing Called Love for the first time, I thought - wow, Freddie is singing an Elvis song. I was wrong, Freddie was singing a Freddie song, a song he created in a hotel bathtub in 20 minutes! And he did it SO much better than Elvis did and sexier too!

Why harp on how he died? We cant bring him back. Why not focus on the positive like the wonderful legacy he has left us with?

When I bought the single (I very rarely bought singles but rather LP's) I was astonished by the B-side. actually, I preferred it to the cover of The Great Pretender. I had always loved the high pitch vocals of Freddie... and this is such a magnificent melody. For many years, I just had the 7" scratchy version, and the version with Montserrat caballé, called Ensueno, then they re-released it on The Solo Collection, at last. Freddie is just plainly amazing here, perfect pitch, perfect control of the voice and yet, so much emotion.

This song was written for Monserrat and her voice of soprano. It is impressive how good Fredy reach the highest note with his falsetto and covers the range of soprano voice. You can find on youtube also the Monserrat's superb version. In my opinion this Fredy version is more special because he sing also the lowest notes, Monserrat do not. What a singers !

Freddie was without doubt one of the world's greatest entertainers, sadly a lot of your information is incorrect, The gentleman in the photos with Freddie is Peter "phoebe" Freestone who was Freddie's personal assistant for many years and not Kenny Everett who was an English tv personality and radio dj. You can find Kenny on the Kenny Everett show on you tube
