    I met Fred one time about 15 years ago or so when I was a kid, it was at the majestic valley arena in Kalispell MT I was riding mini bulls and my parents and I seen him walking by the side hall and I went up and shook his hand and I believe he signed my hat. It was the first time I met a true star in the sport of rodeo, and he was a great man and very happy to stop and talk to some young kid. Never forgot it

    EXACTLY! I was thinking the same thing! Joe Rogan is awesome. For musicians, it's Rick Beato. They know their stuff but they know when to shut up and when to speak up. Fred is a sweety, and deserves a better interview

    Fred had a great avenue to keep him engaged and out of trouble. Although he did sway back towards going down the dark side, he realized it was not for him. Great story from another great interview. Never knew much about Fred but always liked watching him. Thanks! 😊😊

    The gentleman has such a kind and respectful voice. Clint you should mirror your words to your guests. If the guest isn’t popping off the f’bombs you should respect that and stop.

    great episode! Fred is a real champ! i remember being in a gas station in cypress in the 90s and heard this country accent telling the cashier "yall aint got no shit paper in the mens room" i wasnt expecting it to be Fred Freaking Whitfield. The NFR was so much fun watching Fred and Cody!

    I saw Fred compete at The Mesquite Rodeo several times and always enjoyed watching him. He is an excellent horseman, fun to watch, as well as, easy on the eyes (for those of us ladies who like manly men)!

    I notice how Clinton has intentionally wanted to make sure he let him talk and has been working on having a better interview. It’s a mind shift to go from the one being interviewed and being the one who is always teaching others to the one asking the questions. I know you don’t need it but great job Clinton

    Great interview with a great man. I grew up just a couple miles from where he grew up and my father was friends with Roy’s brother. My father always talked highly of Fred. FYI: If you want to have more great people from the rodeo world on, I suggest getting Clint Cannon on with you.

    @@texaspatriot89 Wow the one with the horses? We lived in the big blue house on the corner of mystic bend and Jarvis in the late 80’s. My parents eventually bought 10 acres off of Jarvis & Cypress Valley that turned into a wedding venue, Cole’s Country. They sold when my dad retired but my parents & brother still live in Cypress.

    Started watching and only made it to the part of Fred turning 21. I couldn’t stomach all the talking over and interruptions and straight up repetition of what Fred had already said himself. Not to mention, I’m not against profanity but my God, not every sentence needs the f-word.
