I literally clicked on the vid just to watch him swing. I dont care about that 3 wood. Lol. I just love watching that swing.
How many decades have we all been watching this guy swing and still cant get enough. It's almost getting better with age. ..and dont let the demeanor fool you, he's got some fire inside.."the face!"
What an absolute delight it is watching Freddie swing. He's always had that smooth, relaxed movement and tempo that just amazes me.

I'm thinking of two others (Champions Tour) .... but yeah, you're right
I'm a low-handicap golfer. Played scratch in my late 20s, early 30s. I liked to think of myself as a decent ball striker. Then I followed Fred all day at the Fed-X St Jude a few years ago, and with every swing my spirit dropped more and more! LOL. After 5-6 holes I realized I was so far below his level that I wanted to give up the game. The swing is so smooth it looks like he's swinging in mollases. Yet the ball absolutely explodes off the face of the club and the flight is something to behold. It started low, then climbed to an apex, and then dropped gently to the right in the most gorgeous fade imaginable. Truly a genius ball striker.

Similarly, I'm a 1hdcp(+/- .5) at age 36. Roughly a shot better than when I was a teen. I'm often told I should play more, which I can't argue the merits of, but I never seem to make it a priority. This year has seen more rounds than normal. Some years I only play 2-3 times. My home state's amateur (in southeast us) is normally one i play every year. Short game seems to never leave me, even when other parts do. On topic- of several tournaments I followed Freddy, the most memorable would be TPC Sawgrass 10-12 years ago. He's my dad's favorite player as my father was able to pick him out in the distance just by what he was wearing. The effortless rhythm of his swing and that smooth Loop in his shoulders at transition is mesmerizing to watch. Knowing Freddy, he couldn't care less and is rather disinterested in why people are so mesmerized. But we all know why! Watching his swing will transcend one to a happy place, a peaceful State of Mind. Like your own private beach, laying down relaxing as the waves fold & crash ashore. What I noticed most, not only about Freddy but most of the pros, is the penetrating ball flight and their effortless swings, body rotation. And Freddie tops that list, hearing the ball off the club face, sound like a jet taking off, watching the low penetrating ball flight slowly start to climb until it gradually reaches its apex in the distance and begins its descent towards a precise target, exactly where it was meant to land. I've never watched myself play, but even playing more golf than ever nowadays in my mid 30s, I have a 100% feeling I don't look similar. Many of my shots may have the sound or sometimes the shape, but not all of them have the smooth swing, the sound, the trajectory, the shape, and the precise location you see on tour. Cheers!

Ya the pros make you realize just how bad you really are. I've been to several events now, but my first one was the Tour Championship in 2001 and I followed Tiger for 12 or 13 holes. To see it in person was something else. You've never even seen golf balls behave that way before. As impressive as it is on TV, it's unfathomable in real life.

I did give up the game after qualifying at a local US open Event & going to the sectionals @ Winged Foot. I played the best 36 holes in my entire life, I had an early tee time cause I was a scrub & sat at the 36th green to watch the other players come “in”. Sadly with each score posted pieces of my heart were takin with them. I went from thinking that I was playing in a U.S. open to realize that I wasn’t even close, in-fact I wasn’t even close to getting an “alternate” spot. I am not not sure that people understand how good a player like Fred Couples is

Freddie, bustin' some chops. What a guy, still using a 3 wood that's nearly 20 years old.
Unquestionably one of the greatest swings in golf history is possessed by Fred Couples. And he still has not lost it.
The exactness of his precision shows his great talent.
Honestly, Fred's swing is the ultimate Magic Trip: watch me hit this ball with my Pitching Wedge--120 yd swing...but it will end up 300 yards away magically. I've followed him at the LA Open often, and the sound of that strike is shocking; given the effort.

In the beginning of GolfNow, It directed me to a new golf course. I enjoyed that so much because not only was I playing a new golf course but I was putting in work between my 50, 56, swapping 60s out but reps on the range.
Having the pleasure to work at the SAS event...Freddy made sure to personally thank every single person he could find.
Such an easy, smooth, effortless swing, simply amazing
Smoothest swing in golf. Love it!
Always loved his swing
wow. effortless power. incredible timing/rhythm
The swing is just unreal silky smooth.
Still has a most beautiful swing! Fun to watch.

Love that easy swing - trademark Fred👍
Never get tired of watching that swing.
I put the FT-I driver in my bag 10 years ago and it's never come out!!Still awesome even to this day.

Speeder nx is the shaft he's using, comparing that shaft to a tensei is crazy!!
Hey freddie watch the video, the one he said he toe fatted he actually did. Pay close attention to the ball at impact the club impacted the grass about 2 inches behind the ball. 😅😅
If there is a prettier swing than Freddies I would like to see it. Smooth as butter.
Freddie C has always been my favorite golfer since I was a kid
Elite athletes are just built different, love his easy swing.
In my opinion, that is still the greatest swing in golf (past or present).👍🏻

One of the best to ever do it.
The most beautiful swing in golf.
One of the best swings of all time. Top 10 at least.
That swing.... Dang!
The elusive best fit 3-wood. It just seems to be the club that's hardest to find and fit, or hardest to change once you like something.
Are those square club heads? Are those coming back?
More of these videos please
...and now I am going to replay this video.
He makes it look so easy.
It's funny when Fred says he chunked it or toe'd it. I've heard many pro players say that Fred has never missed a shot. Sure they may go right or left, short of long. But for pure contact other pros think that Fred is magic. Obviously I couldn't speak to that. But I've watched Fred hitting balls for decades, and every shot looks like the shot before, and the shot that comes after. To my mind, he is magic.
“Just watch the face … from there … THE FACE” 🥶
Putting a Callaway FT-i Squareway wood into play? That’s crazy! 😳😳😳
Amazing swing but i still love the great Lee Trevino when it comes to swing and doing stuff with a golf ball, Trevino and Ballesteros were magicians. Couples is more remembered back in the day as someone you would have to lock your daughters, wife and even your granny up when he was on the prowl.🤣
Fred has the smoothest swing in golf.
Mike in the Champions Tour Repair trailer got the ferrule the next week - how did Fred like the club after the new, adjustable ferrule?
Cool 😎 Freddy keep on swinging the way you do its elegant
Surprised they didn’t have numbers on the new woods? Was this just a video for us?
He seems to have a really big ribbon in his swing, but obviously it works perfect....👍👍
I had those Rotexs on spot from 30 to 110 and alot of reps.
Madison C.C. told me my grip was too strong. I'm like have you seen how far I can hit it and my consistency through Rotex wedges?

What kind of club and shaft is he swinging here?
Made it to nationals in Battle Creek from Cleveland

They're not that great. They're extremely forgiving for off-center strikes, but the weight being so evenly distributed means a center strike won't have as much ball speed as a traditional shaped head. Plus, they're all obnoxiously loud.
The most beautiful tempo.
the way he said "THE FACE"
Favourite swing in golf.
I could literally watch Freddy hit golf balls on the range all day
I don't know what it is, but there's something about watching Freddy swing and talk and interact with other people. Whether it be other pro's, or a club mfg, or just fans. It's addicting. I could have watched this video for an hour. The back and forth. And of course. The swing. I mean, come on.

Smoothest swing in golf. Ever.
I watched him hit balls on the range at the Memorial in about 2000, when he was in a little bit of a slump. He was hitting a 3-wood off the deck as long and high and straight as you can imagine, every shot. And then he would draw one, and then fade one, back and forth on demand. I thought, if I could hit hit a 3-wood like that, I would never carry a driver, or even golf tees for that matter.
Pure. What club is he testing? Is that the old school Callaway FT-I (square head)? This video was posted 6 months ago but when was this filmed? That FT-I came out like 10-12 years ago, right? Anyway…..Freddie could swing a garden shovel and I would still be mesmerized….
I could watch his swing on a loop for hours

Where in Pittsburgh is that guy from?
As a huge fan---I think we all should realize this is a guy with MAJOR back issues his whole life and still did what he did--and still does. With a good back, he would certainly have been in the top 10 of all golfers of all time. Argue that.
