My grandfather was in the battle of the bulge. He said it was so cold they lived like animals. The Germans were very tough he said

You can see hopes in their eyes

See all those soldiers, regardless of their side. Their innocence can be seen on their faces, that they did not want to be there, that they had to adapt to the process by killing those who were once their brothers. I know we are all proud to see these men who gave everything for their country and were strong, but did they really want to be there? There are more ways to be a strong man. rest in peace all those who fought and unfortunately continue to fight wars today.

The more you watch these type videos the more you realize how much trauma these soldiers had to go through fighting for what they believe in

My grandfather fighted on japans front, after ww2 he worked in SMERSH (soviet counter-spy agency, the translation is "death to spies"). he survived 3 gunshots on battlefield, and 2 stab attacks and one pipebomb during in killing spies. He never told 'bout it, only 'bout family. his full story was unrevealed only after he passed. During ww2, his family including 6 brothers was killed by bombing. I can't imagine what hell he walk through, but remembered even at the dusk of his life, in calm talk, his sight was like "1000 yard stare". Once he shows me one photo of his family, where he was a kid, and tell me "wars took not only people's life, they kill souls in those who survived them"

The Germans of this era were like 90% Christian so if they believed in Him, they were saved of that fate. Don't make the mistake of thinking yourself saved without belief in Christ lest you end up in the fate you wished upon them.
