You look closely as Jerome is telling Franklin about his move to Cali, and they both are close to crying. Lotta eyes fluttering and looking away as Jerome reflects on purpose and the present. This is a sad, but powerful scene. Jerome is the father figure that Franklin’s Dad wasn’t. Many see slaps, but I see discipline. It’s like when the son gets older and finally gets the balls to buck up at Dad. Jerome isn’t necessarily shaken by the gun in his face because he’s tired of the game. He’s in a place he just can’t ever have imagined he would be. He’d rather be dead than warring with the boy he raised from the crib to the current.

True. He did come to them when avi only gave him 24 hours for that brick. And Louie came and saved the day. Never once did Franklin regret doing business with the family. So idk how Jerome doesn’t see what Louie did was wrong all the way. Franklin accepted the fact he could die if he didn’t do what teddy wanted since he’s the face of the business and not the family. I think they will all team up to take teddy down in the end but with a cost.

I think it was genius to have the shot of that little girl in the end. That cinematography speaks volumes with that reaction shot. And at the end of all of this who suffers the most, the answer is us. Families torn apart and trauma passed on to our children. Jerome’s face shows that he clearly knows that from the dialogue and subtext. He realizes this horrible cycle of greed and hatred not only affects him, his nephew, his sister, and now others. It’s truly a “what have I done?” moment… heartbreaking.

Louie is Jerome's love, wife, significant...Franklin knew it, and knew she didn't deserve a gun to her face nor Franklin's "ill kill you 10 times over if it mean I get my money back" Franklin was in the wrong just as much as Jerome was with the 2nd slap, and while understanding their history(black diamond was directly involved with shooting and almost killing louie) killing black diamond in front of everyone on the street. The show set this up brilliantly. There's fault on both sides so the guilt is so layered, deep, and rooted in all parties. There isn't a right and a wrong to be found on any 1 side. Bloodshed, death, and mayhem are inevitable. And while I absolutely love Jerome and Franklin....I got my money down that both will be dead by the finale. ESPECIALLY Jerome.

Yes, this definitely was a messed up moment to witness family be at odds with one another, something that they didn’t want to happen. However, Jerome talked about failing him and his upbringing. He didn’t fail Franklin and they had a solid relationship even after they started making millions and he brought him up with him. Even if Louie didn’t get shot, she was still planning a way to drift away from Franklin and did so in a scandalous way and Franklin did what he had to do. From the start Louie been controlling Jerome and always questioned him when it came to his family. She used her ambitions to get over and caused a war within the family. Franklin has been nothing but gracious and gave them what they wanted, but that wasn’t enough for Louie. Jerome’s head is in a whirlwind while ignoring the fact that she’s at fault for all of this. Honestly, it’s going to be tragic for both of them simply because Louie isn’t smart strategically and her ambitions outweigh her hustle and street knowledge. They have no exit plan neither. It’s over.

I gotta say, the actors did amazing. I felt uncomfortable just watching them interact, completely different from the dynamic from season 1. I started to hate Franklin after he shot Mel's dad but it's hard not to see his point. Imagine building an empire of sorts with blood, sweat, and tears, all with your family behind you. Then all of a sudden, family gives you the cold shoulder and profits off of what you built just to get a taste of the power you had. Then when you ask for help, you get the okie doke, "go sell for me here's ONE territory". A slap in the face to a kingpin. On the other hand, Jerome is right, Franklin has fallen from grace. Both sides have valid points, but money is always the determining factor. Ain't that interesting?
