Northern soul will never die!

This was ahead of its time. The base intro, the Hammond organ and the tambourine intro is sublime. I never heard this song before the cover version a few years ago and had no idea that this was a franky valli original. Bloody superb!

Frankie had the voice of a thousand singing men. He nails it on the night more than any for me.

The Northern scene made this a hit.....fantastic record.

Took me 40 yrs to appreciate this song.. Played it full blast to an empty dance hall, before the night started.. And BAM.. It hit me!! X

100 beats a minute. To see the kids of Blackpool Mecca and Wigan Casino, and elsewhere, break-dancing to this must have been phenomenal.

When I was a a young man in the seventies, this record stood out to me as being different. It was different, but I didn't know why. Most of the Four Seasons records were to a different formula. Silver Star also different. In my later years, I now realise why this was so liked by Northern Soul fans, (the fast beat). I love hearing this today. Frankie Valli is still touring in 2023, what a fantastic man

Frankie and the four seasons, one of the true super groups.

I doubt anyone could have delivered this the way he did. First heard him and the Four Seasons on a juke box at the garrison swimming pool in Kluang Malaya. Must have been about 1963 time and I really cannot remember whether it was Sherry or Rag Doll but his voice had me hooked.

Frankies finest, that and "My eyes adored you". Form is temp, class is permanent

What a song! So jealous it was before my time. Would have loved to have been at a packed out northern soul dance hall. All the cool cats cutting there shapes to this. I can only imagine the DJ playing this for the first time. Mustve been magical 😊. I salute the older generation for saving this song as i believe it wasnt deemed a hit in the UK at the time . Being a teenager when this was released and loving Northern Soul (Wigan) my mum would not let me go, it still resonates today as one of my favourite songs! My brother in law was in a group Pickwick Papers who performed in the Northern Clubs, and sang falsetto, singing "Sherry" and many other songs. Frankie Valli and 4 Seasons are performing in the UK next year - Scarborough, Liverpool, Nottingham, London.
