Many singers were performing this song right after Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons made a tremendous hit of it. I had a musical arranger/ coach , and we deciced for me to use this song in my repertoire. I always liked to do a song that i was comfortable with and made me sound good. I wiil never forget one very positive experience i had from doing this song on an audition for the Merv Griffen show. My acting manager at the time made me do this audition, even though i kind of knew that unless you had a hit record, were in a Broadway show, in a movie or appearing on a steady basis at a club such as the "Living Room " in NYC, the producers of shows like Merv Griffen etc. wouldn't usually put you on. Maybe there were exceptions. I did a song called " Everytime " and " Cant Take My Eyes Off You". When i was leaving the theater after the audition, Merv Griffen was sitting near the exit with some other people. He said to me , " young lady, you have beautiful voice." That was one of the nicest memories i have in my life. I guess singing " Cant Take My Eyes Off You " was a good choice of tunes. Im sure i still have the sheet music , and records of this song in my possession. After all these years i forgot some of the lyrics. About 15 years ago i picked up a tape in a record store of" The Four Seasons Greatest Hits". I loved all those songs for years.
