Frankie Lymon TV Appearances (1956-1958)
Музыка
Franklin Joseph "Frankie" Lymon (September 30, 1942[5][6] - February 27, 1968[7]) was an American rock and roll/rhythm and blues singer and songwriter, best known as the boy soprano lead singer of the New York City-based early rock and roll group The Teenagers. The group was composed of five boys, all in their early to mid-teens. The original lineup of the Teenagers, an integrated group, included three African-American members, Frankie Lymon, Jimmy Merchant, and Sherman Garnes; and two Puerto Rican members, Joe Negroni and Herman Santiago. The Teenagers' first single, 1956's "Why Do Fools Fall in Love," was also their biggest hit. After Lymon went solo in mid-1957, both his career and that of the Teenagers fell into decline. He was found dead at the age of 25 on the floor of his grandmother's bathroom from a heroin overdose.[8] His life was dramatized in the 1998 film Why Do Fools Fall In Love. - wikipedia

One thing that people overlook about the Teenagers and Frankie is that they were not trained and formed by professional talent agents and voice therapists. They didn't have choreographers. They did all that themselves. They created the group and the songs by just singing together on street corners and hallways practicing. This is pure talent in raw form.

Frankie Lymon could kill MJ on stage as a teen, but he open the door for MJ. Because he showed kids could sell records and entertain as good as adults.
If we do not recognize this man, as one of the top 5 influential performers and social norm breaker, then everything y’all talking. Bout today is nonsense he busted through barriers the likes of which we today do not know. His TALENT made it so HE encapsulated, white, Hispanic and black youth, strictly by talent Here in LA, my Hispanic relatives give this man the utmost respect we can do this together people, the music, the ideology , the forgiveness of those who do not hear, the epitome of music starts and stops with the talented no matter what color , race or creed they are Let’s all show the world , we talented
The record company enticed him to go solo, thereby severing family ties w/the Teenagers. I believe that was a huge source of pain and heartache for him. They all grew up together as brothers. 🦋
So sad what happened to this legend of music. May his soul rest in peace. No one can ever hurt you again sir. 💔

The Teenagers were one of the early successful adolescent R&B/Vocal groups and inspired NUMEROUS others across the country’s inner-cities. For young urban people (especially Black Americans), singing or harmonizing on sidewalks, street-corners, in schools, basements, etc. were later generations’ versions of pastimes like rapping, street dancing, video games, doing social media challenges, etc.

Frankie's problems had absolutely nothing to do with his "older women." They didn't push heroin on him and were not pedophiles. It was his superstar exposure to drugs and unscrupulous management with little of Frankie's interests in mind.
