This is the video that was shown on loop on MTV at the time, so when I saw them at Irvine Meadows in Orange County, California, in 1985, naturally the fans took over the stage. It didn't help that at the beginning of the encore, Holly Johnson told everybody in the crowd to come closer. I had tenth row seats, but me and my friend Ruben ended up standing on the arms of the chairs in the third row to watch the madness unfold, and madness it was. Basically, after one song (Relax) for the encore, the band ran off the stage, they turned on all the lights and told everybody to go home. I got pelted with so much garbage I was a walking trash can heading to the car. Still one of the best concerts I ever saw (and I saw a lot of them back then).

Yeah, heard these guys back then. Song first. Later the name of the group. They were all declared gay/queer then but some band members said not all. Looking at them here in this concert setting they look normal/straight but the original video in a gay bar showed a much different reality to their lifestyle
The funny thing about this song is you really CAN'T relax when you're listening to it.
The 80s were in another universe that can't be explained. I am so glad I was there as a teenager.

THIS SONG IS THE BETTER EXAMPLE OF THE MUSIC OF THE GREATES 80'S.
That bass guitar intro is just bonkers!! The energy the intensity the electricity and that flash man!! That flash light and the Mafia overcoat just TOPS it off…. This has to one of the craziest live concerts. Wish I could turn back time and be there!! Next best would be blasting it out loud via my SVS SB3000 subwoofer n Barco projector image 5m wide!!! What a party that would be 🎉🎉🎉
Back from the days when bands had REAL talent and wow factor…

THIS is the video version I grew up watching on MTV when I was a kid. I always preferred this performance instead of the studio version. Count me in as another who thought it was Nick Rhodes in the audience.
One of the best songs of the 80s, just pure magic.
Hot Dang !!!!! What a performance !!! Nothing beats this show. The audience was allowed on the stage, and boy!! They expressed their liking. DANG!!!! This video is WAY better than the official Video. Make this the Official. And digitalize it !!!
the eighties were the best ten years of my life, and the music was awesome.

These guys were incredible. Loved those cool pants, it's a shame to look so dapper only to end up on the floor. All the guys looked really good in this video, I"d attack them too! There was just something sexy and fun about their attitude when they were performing in this video.
Used to go to a place called R&R in the 80s, Way cool place to go. When this song came on all of the wait staff and bartenders would get up on the bar and dance to it. Brings back fun, fun, fun memories.

Frankie Goes To Hollywood "Relax" Welcome To The Pleasuredome Island Records, 1985
I toured the world solo last yr after a rough 3 yr divorce w this, Two Tribes & Pleasuredome banging in my earphones. From India to Greece, to Italy France, Spain, Morocco, and England..I was grooving to the 80s. Just an anonymous middle aged woman walking with my memories, making new ones...best music, best days of my life

Simply iconic
This is definitely live especially the singer. Holly is trying to catch his breath in some of the lyrics trying to keep up with the tempo and improvises some of the lyrics. Not the studio version of the song like the original video.
