Frankie had his own club in NOLA, very near to Bourbon Street. He put on a PHENOMENAL show...my husband Ric remembers one particular: a fave set, using Jesus Christ Superstar. Ford sang all the parts, and was a huge draw. Everybody, and I mean everybody - gay, straight and in between....flocked to see him!! Great, warm.. memories. My hubby said he packed 'em in and was a terrific person besides. RIP..and thanks for the music!

We shot an extended interview with Frankie in his home in Gretna. It was to be part of a documentary on Cosimo Matassa and the artists he recorded at his New Orleans studio. Unfortunately, it was not completed. But there is still hope. Perhaps I'll post some more of Frankie. He was a great fine person.

Jack Dupree, Professor Longhair, Tuts Washington, Archibald, James Booker. They created this New Orleans R&B style, which Frankie tried to copy.
