Frankenstein's Army (Richard Raaphorst 2013) : The Making Of

Фильм және анимация

Behind the scenes making of the English language Dutch production of the Nazi-zombie horrorfilm "Frankenstein's Army" by Richard Raaphorst.
"Most of the monster designs come from the creators' pre-production that started in the early 2000s, with the working title "Worst Case Scenario", as one of the first attempts to use the Internet to gather support from genre fans, e.g. involving them as extras for mass scenes. The plot of this splatter comedy would have centered around undead German WW2 soldiers coming from the sea and killing tourists at a beach. Production began in 2004, but by 2009 the project was officially abandoned and the team started to work on Frankenstein's Army instead. All that remains from "Worst Case Scenario" are two teaser trailers released in 2006 that feature some of the creatures that ended up being used in "Frankenstein's Army" more than ten years later.
Toward the end of World War II, Russian soldiers pushing into eastern Germany stumble across a secret Nazi lab, one that has unearthed and begun experimenting with the journal of one Dr. Victor Frankenstein. The scientists have used the legendary Frankenstein's work to assemble an army of super-soldiers stitched together from the body parts of their fallen comrades -- a desperate Hitler's last ghastly ploy to escape defeat."

Just wanting to ask: All those texts in the video, did you make them yourself? If so, I just wanted to say that it is a bit confusing. Otherwise, FINALLY A BEHIND THE SCENES OF THIS MOVIE.

This is quite wholesome getting to meet the whole cast and seeing how this wonderful underground horror movie came together. It’s a darn shame the original couldn’t come to be, but I feel that the failure of one project led to the birth of something even greater. And this is this director’s first attempt at film making! I look forward to seeing where his work leads him in the future ^^

I wasn't very scared while watching the movie and I think the dialogue could've been better. I also think some of the scenes were a bit frustrating, watching the camera man stand in place and just dodge the slow moving monsters rather than run away. By far what made this movie so enjoyable for me was the set designs, practical effects, and costume designs. I really would love to see this movie redone or possibly a sequel or prequel. ❤

I am making a fan spinoff of this movie. And I only have four weeks left to make the entire thing. How the heck do they make the awsome headsculpts and gore effects?!?! Could it be from types of foam and then added layers of silicone over it?? Like at 14:13 what mixture of stuff couldve been used here to get that look of stingy goo

Influence isn't the same thing as plagiarism... IE: RE inspired future survival horror games (Silent Hill, Parasite Eve, the list goes on...). Those games didn't plagiarize specific creations and models though, as in this case. Please point to where you've seen a "unique propeller head" monster design in Star Wars or otherwise and then we can talk, otherwise gIvE Me A BrEaK.

For me, as a russian-speaking person, it's funny to see all those pseudo-russian things all over the video, like using a letter "Д" (which stands for "D" ) instead of just a simple "А" (pronounced the same as in English), or seeing these "soviet" soldiers who can't pronounce their names right.
