One of my top 5 zappa albums, over all the years probably heard it several 100 times.

Good pick, Wayne. I listen to a ton of Zappa online. But when I'm pulling out something for a drive, this CD always ends up coming with me. I bought the original vinyl unheard the first time I saw it in the record store back in the early 80's. Although Frank doesn't really employ a Les Paul too often, I think the cover shot is one of my favorite Frank pics.

Your reactions are always awsome. Not only in words but also the way you tune in when listening the track.

One of my favourite tracks from this album. A bit of a rarity for the Zappa catalogue, mellow and subtle. Good pick Wayne.

Fantasticly unique song from Zappa. It's such a beautiful guitar effect, I've never heard any other tune with this guitar effect.

I would add the first Shut Up And Play Your Guitar solo at/near the top of the FZ solos list, pulled from an Inca Roads performance, as I recall. The sheer unapologetic in-your-face mastery brings tears of joy.

Watermelon in Easter Hay, Outside Now, and some of the other "Shut Up" solos get all the kudos, but for me THIS is FZ's best recorded improv on guitar. The vibe, the note choices, the spooky tone (both guitar-wise and the sparenesss of just Guit Bass and drums) makes it awesome, and thanks to master Vai, we can all play it

The reason why you two have done more than 200 Zappa reactions, way more than any other band, is most other bands have less than 30 - 40 songs in their catalog...

I think it's an auto-wah or an envelope follower- the latter I think - I can be wrong though - beautiful indeed

It's a Phaser. Sounds like an 6 or 8 stage one given the "wah"-like dip in the sweep. He might have an envelope filter on top of it; Zappa had a shit ton of the latest rack-mount gear at the time from a ton of people, and he wasn't afraid to employ them
