I could see this version playing out on speakers of city buildings, desolate, as what used to be such a crowded and bustling space, has died out in the apocalypse. All that resides are the few weeds that have grown into long vines sprouting from cracks in the pavement. The music echoes across the city as if giving a final farewell to its now-gone creators. Normally, it is nice to be in quiet. But this emptiness, this void... it is louder than anything. The souls of the damned watch on as this world that they had come to know is officially gone. There will be no return of mankind. No matter how much we hope the lives we live would have their own movie-like, happy endings, the world moves on, ignorant of our hopes. The loudspeakers damp the song as if they feel the pain of our world coming to shreds. As the clouds move away, we see that even though such a catastrophe, even with streets torn with broken vehicles and what used to be large flames, the sun still comes up in the morning. Mother earth does not shed a drop of tear for us, just moves on, as everything does. The warmth of the sun, such a beautiful sensation, now with nothing to experience its joy. The cool chill of the wind, as it blows on. Almost like a memento to our time we had on the earth, a strong gust of wind catches clothing in its embrace, jackets, pants and shirts alike, as they, the last remnants of what we used to look like, fly off into the atmosphere, leaving nothing behind but an empty city, as the speakers come to the end of their song, and as the day dawns, the last day we ever had on this miserable, tough, scarred, beautiful world. I think it goes better with the message, a farewell to a life full of experiences and lessons, the original version sounds completely cheered, full of energy, this one sounds heavy like we're on our last moments and for me, that sounds amazing and epic! I was listening to my playlist while writing. Its 1:30 in the morning on a summer night, Ive been writing a long story ive been really passionate about. I begin writing the death of one of my characters, he's one of my favorites and has been around for a long while. Takes 5 pages of fighting to kill this MF Im finishing up the last paragraph, and as I type the last line 2:15 hits, and I just sit back, re-reading the final line as the music plays. I cant help but think back to my first story, and think of how far I've come, and how proud I am of this moment.
