    Frank looked great, he didn't look like a puffed up body builder, he looked like a guy who lifts heavy things and has the actual functional muscle rather than being ripped, I think it was a good experiment for him, he has always been a mid-sized heavyweight, he never had the speed/cardio that smaller HWs like Cain V who fights at a relentless pace have, so I think its better to move up for him rather than down.

    @specialforces69: I apologize with my harsh sounding reply earlier- yes there's very few people that can bench/ squat/ dead heavy numbers- in fact it's not often MMA fighters do strength training. And with Mir he admitted to more of a bodybuilder type routine (sarcoplasmic hypertrophy) rather than Strength(myofibriller hypertophy). It would be my opinion most fighters that DO lift do BB without really knowing the difference.

    naturally Frank has one of the biggest frames, he has never been a "mid sized heavyweight" even with a complete lack of weights the guy is a tank, id say other than brock he is naturally prediposed to being the biggest heavyweight

    Mir will never compare to Brock in the strength area. As soon as Brock smothers Mir down and stay on top of him and controls him and starts raining bombs, It's TKO!!! rep stoppage. Brock will be even madder now since Mir commented on wanting to break his neck and make him the first to die in the octagon. What a way to pissed Brock off. Brock is someone you don't wanna piss off. I will enjoy watching Brock give Mir another major beatdown.

    Its fully possible to ad that weight in that time if you are on a bodybuilding schedule of Lift-eat,sleep,eat,sleep,eat. But not if your doing the kind of cardio and conditioning work that is required in elite level marital arts. Thats why I belive he must have used some form of performance enhancer. I dont have a problem with it, but I belive he did.

    wait so after UFC 100 which was on July, he gained 20-25 pounds of muscle from powerlifting for UFC 107 which is on December, unless if he ate a lot to gain fat or has good genetics, how did he gain that much muscle in a few months?

  • @TheMysticPeak
    @TheMysticPeak12 жыл бұрын

    Nope. That's called the 'Atkins Diet'.. but that's not what he was doing. He was just eating foods that he would normally eat. He read the China study and switched to vegan a month before he fought Shane Carwin. Then he read Robb Wolf's book about 'Paleo Diet' like months and months before he fought Roy Nelson... then that's when he switched to Paleo. From what I read and heard from Mike Dolce and Robb Wolf, It's not good for a Heavyweight to be a Vegan, it's the plecibo effect that's working

    That is what differentiates him from a guy like Kongo when he finds a weakness in his game he'll correct it. It doesn't even look like Kongo is worried at all about Mir's jiujitsu and that will be his downfall in my opinion. If all he's thinking about is smashing Mir's face on the stand up then its game over for Kongo he gets taken down what's next? Mir will submit him. Mir is training his stand up and it will improve drastically he's not working on his ground game because he doesn't need to.

    nah lesnars not fat, its that he used to be 40 lbs heavyer in his wwe days, hes had to cut a lot of weight to become an mma fighter which has left him with stretched saggy skin from when it was expanded with big muscles in his wwe days, his weight cut leaves his with loose skin. hes very lean and hardly has any fat on him.

    I have no doubt that Frank Mir could kick my ass but the training he's doing is more like that of an NFL linebacker. As a fighter I agree you want to make sure you're strong but there has to be a balance. Getting too big and bulky for your frame is only going to be a hindrance. Mir would do better to focus more on cardio and cut down to light heavy which seems like it would be a more natural weight class for him.

    LEsnar is sick not able to train! The illness make brock not competive, imo it will take much time for brock to get back in shape after he recovered. Think at mir's bike incident. He need to recover more than a year. It's a pity but we have to wait for Lesnar vs Mir III otherwise it will be a dissapionting match because Lesnar has an unfair handycap.

    Mir's comments about wanting to kill Brock was VERY out of line. I don't know why he would even say that silly shit. WHY?! Why didn't he just stick to training his balls off and focusing on a rematch and using his hate/anger towards Brock as motivation to get revenge instead of blabbing about how he wants Brock dead to the public. Let your talent do the talking Mir what the fuck! I have a feeling Mir's main focus is on Brock and not on Shane Carwin. He needs to be careful, Carwin is dangerous.

    @xXPAINTRAINXx. sir if you look at all the brock vs mir fights, brock has dominated all fights but made a stupid mistake in their first fight and got submitted. it's stupid when mir trains for bulk and strength when he should train on advanced takedown-defense or techniques. he will NEVER be as strong as lesnar. i see a repeat beatdown of mir face into chorizo in their 3rd fight. lesnar is too good controlling fighters on the ground as he rain punches on their face until Herb Dean stops fight.

    If you know anything about weight training you would know that you don't put on 20-25 lbs off muscle in 6 months while doing relentles cardio and fighting with only a "high protein diet". If you are willing to belive that then you can make the case that no athlehe ever used any preformance enhancers ever. I don't know how I am supposed to prove to you that Brock is just as if not more defined that Mir if you cant see it by looking at them.

    The fastest 40 meter sprinters are sprinters. The fastest 20 meter sprinters are olympic weightlifters. Most good powerlifters are not made to run.
