He came to my elementary too. All I remember is he told some joke about going on a "boonta hunt" or something like that and all the kids laughed then someone told me that it was actually an adult joke that we didn't get (we thought he was talking about pig hunting) and to this day I have no idea what the joke was about.

I grew up listening to Frank. I don’t remember how old I was, but I remember going to see Andy Bumatai and walking over to see Frank Delima both in the same night. My friend and I paged Glen Miyashiro at the Cal hotel in Vegas, we couldn’t stop laughing. So many fond memories and laughter from Frank. Seen him many times and for my brother’s 21st birthday we were obviously in Vegas and went to see Frank. He asked if anybody’s birthday and my brother went on stage and Frank gave him gifts and made fun of him.

OMG, what a huge treat! This podcast is fabulous! I saw Booga Booga back in the 70’s in the Territorial Tavern. Frankie Delima is a living treasure of Hawaii.

Saw Frank for the first time in our gym at Damien Memorial High, never forget his football joke. He asked our coach at the time, “ Wow coach, where you recruiting your players from? Mayor Wright housing ? 😂😂😂

Grew up in the 80s, I still remember the days at Pohakea Elementary when Uncle Frank performed... Didn't realize it then, but the positivity he brought was the type of energy that keiki needed at such a vulnerable age

Aloha Tumua, Thank you for a awesome interview with Frank De lima. I recall seeing his show at the noodle shop . You all brought back memories, when you mentioned Rap. Wen I was in high school, a classmate & I would cutout of school to go record album shopping at Whole Earth Book Store on S.King st. Wen we were headed towards Makiki village area to catch da bus, Rap would be in his Volkswagen bug, & stop & gives us a ride to Whole Earth Book Store where he was working while going to U.H. this was in 1974, Rap wasn't known yet. Years later Wen I went with my classmates to see Booga Booga at Is territorial tavern in downtown told my friend a Das da guy who used to give us rides from Roosevelt, wen we went to his store,. I couldn't believe it was the same guy, cause he looked so Studious, when he was In Da book Store. But wen he picked us up in his VW bug he was cool. , hopefully I can share more. Aloha ed. I just subscribed so I can watch more of your content.

God this makes my heart feel so good to know he is still doing well. I grew up on the mainland but because my mom grew up in Maui and my dad was in the NAVY in the 80s out of pearl they had a bunch of his CDs his acts are one of the things i grew up listing to on road trips. I have been blessed to see him once in Maui as well. If anyone can point me in the direction to buy some of his cds or dvds please do I wish I still had them ugh.

Aloha, I had the privilege to work with Frank Delima at Daimond Head Theatre in Scrooge for two seasons and he was great. His ad libbing during every performance had everybody laughing, even the cast and crew. Treasure memories for sure🤣🙃😂❣️.

Tumua you discribed Uncle Frank perfectly. "The Godfather" I remember seeing his show in the 80's. I was a teenager and went with my parents. It was hilarious. I saw something shiny by the chair in the front of me. I reached down to pick it up and it was someone's false teeth that flew out from the previous show. I washed my hands like a 100 times after turning it in to the staff. LOL. Truly great times in Hawaii.

After the show Frank came and hung out with the ones of us who stuck around, we were the second show of the night. And when he did the mainland Torrance show he came to Cherrystone’s a Gardena bar and his entire group visited and Frank sang karaoke with us. Frank is a genuine nice guy.
