You know I never thought much of the punisher. Never read the comics, never watched the movies, but the TV series has got me, love the character, probably one of my favorites in marvel now. No gamma radiation, no spider bite, no massive fortune, "just" a marine cleaning out the gutters, love him.

The Punisher is not dreadful, he is pure. He is pure judgment. John Pilgrim was given a chance to hold onto mercy, and he did - he got the chance to live with his children, freed from the Schultzes. No he doesn't kill to live. He's just a trained assassin and that's what he does to fill his time now. What else would he do? Were he a painter he would paint. The trauma did not make him that way he was that way but he has no work life balance no love anymore.
