When Africa was great.....what a beautiful song that bring back good memories ....
I remember my father playing Franco’s songs all of my childhood every morning when we were taking Breakfast and also when he used to take us to road trips…every time I listen to Franco I just think of those good memories and my father, oh how I miss him dearly every day, Rest In Peace baba I love you forever and thank you so much for leaving behind such great memories 😢❤️❤️❤️

It's the music of Congo (originally From both Congo). Mostly of carabeen's music cames from Africa, like cuban's rhumba (Congo, Rd Congo or Angola, former Kingdom of Kongo) or Argentine and Uruguay 's Tango (cames from Nigeria). That's why it's seems similar like some south america's music.

Allez savoir !!! I was 18 years when Luambo with TP OK Jazz performed in 1973 at Amaan Stadium, Zanzibar the entrance was free for everybody! As usual in Zanzibar cultural wise is oriental but Luambo music was the exception and stadium was at full capacity at 18hrs waiting for mighty TP OK Jazz entertaining congolese music performance! For the first time I witnessed usage of wireless microphone by Franco Luambo himself performing bolero song B.S.K......we saw Sam Mangwana singing out a lot including then new songs the like of 'Djemelasi, monzo, azda..etc'....not to mention the superb stage show by 'Fwala' mesmerising dancers...namely ...Ekshofu, Tumba..etc it was the historical musical event ever! Courtesy of late Zanzibar President then Maalim Aboud Jumbe Mwinyi! RIP dear!

In the memory of my late father and my uncle,I grown up with this music all days and nights, even at my late father grave if this music plays his grave may shake
I fell in Love with rhumba in the early 70s because my Late brother Sudi Masibo played it all his free time. Now in my 50s and I am an avid fan of TP OK Jazz. I first them perform in Nairobi in 1983 when Kenya was celebrating 20 years of independence. Then in 1987 during all African Games in Nairobi. Then post Franco in 1992. OK Jazz all the way.
I'm very young but i love this music and it never gets Old for sure! One of the best Respect !
I'm driving through memory lane right now as I listen to this song. My old childhood friends and the quiet environment in the noon listening to this legendary song under a big mango tree by the house with my father old skool Radio tape. This music has brought tears in my eyes 👀 even when I'm still driving through my memory lane remembering my friends who passed away, we're all part of this songs enjoyment 😢😢
It was the years 2013-2015 when i was travelling by road all over eastern Tanzania, my driver brother had just one cassette tape - Orchestra Super Mazembe .. what songs - ilena, shauri yako and so on..that grew on me as we pasd by dusty roads, villages w playing children and big baobabs, with the eastern arc mountains in the background. This was the first time i heard the golden old congolese music. later in Morogoro, Dar and Zanzibar, i picked up many CDs from the streets and bars, like Sam Mangwana, Mlimani Park Ochestra, Independance cha cha.. and ...Franco with the TP OK Jazz ! As that music grew on me, i bnegan to appreciate that even in 2015 there were many bands in Tanzania that still played the old Congolese style music. Muziki nzuu kabisa cheezi sana!
It was on a long trip driving with my friend to lusaka capital city of Zambia when he introduced me to this music and MHSRIP. We listened to this kind of music always on a long trip whilst driving and we could not feel the distance.
Back in days when brothers loved one another, when family reigned supreme in Africa, my father (in Nigeria) AkA Edy-Congo, danced and melted in soulful delight of Congolese melodies like this. Oh Africa, what happened?

Though I have This stuff and many more 🤔, but I can't skip such Music anywhere on the web 😱. They remind of our Kenyan pride VoK/KBC radio and my rumba fanatic late parents playing them on radio gram in early 70's onwards 😍. I love Zaïroes rumba, where to me Franco et TP OK JAZZ is second to none. We had great musicians come entrepreneur like the late Verckys Kiamangwana Mateta, but Franco was a music genius 😍. Am privileged to have almost all of his music about 60 hours on my phone and music system where even my children born and brought up in love TP OK JAZZ 😍. Luambo Makiadi Franco's memory will live forever 🙏.
My dad will catch this song in Nigeria all the way from Congo on his small transistor radio with the antennae pull to the fullest. But now we can't even get cell phone communication from the neighboring state. The good ole days were the best.

I attended a concert by Lwanzo Lwambo Makiadi (Franco) at the Kenyatta Conference Cenre, Nairobi in the 1980s. During another tour of concert in Kenya, Franco and his T.P OK Jazz performed in Westetn Kenya. Fir ne and my wife who is a music lover, Franco's show in Kisumu was not enough. When Franco performed at Lukhungu Stadium in Kakamega, we attended. Because Lingala music is very popular in western Kenya, Franco toured Kenua again. This time he performed at district headquarters of Nyanza districts.
This is legendry. A lot of talent. The lyric and instrumental is unbelievable. It reminds me of my childhood in the 80s/90s when this kind of music dominated the airwaves in Nigeria. It is only now that I am appreciating the talent in Franco and his band. Thank you for the beautiful memories.
