I'm 64 getting on 65 in May this year of 2024 and I started guitar playing in 1974 when I turned 15 years old with only one goal and that was to play and sing Status Quo. Today, my passion is still the same as I keep learning the songs (Leadbreaks, Rhythm Guitar, Bass) each band I've been in I've taught them all but then they left me and went on to do other things in life. Status Quo written so many amazing songs and came here to Australia many times and loved it.

For me Francis Rossi is awesome! Such a great, smart and funny guy with a lot of insights about life and music. Underrated guitarist, underrated singer, underrated song writer. Status Quo is my favourite band but also love Rossi's solo work especially the album he did with Hannah Rickard. Great stuff! 🙂👍

First saw Status Quo at the Marquee club, London, in 1968, and still go to see them every chance I can, Francis has always been a good entertainer !

A great interview from Micheal Ball on radio 2 on Sunday to a legend that is Francis Rossi of Status Quo. Talking about his up and coming tunes and chat tour, Rossi likes a good chat.Went to see him on his on the tour this I talk to much with Mick Wall in Cheltenham Town Hall.He was a very good concert, totally different from is day job so he says 😀 👍 👏 .Had a chat with him at the end of the gig at a book signing session. A very humble guy, a nice man very down too earth guy.

Here we have the admission from Francis that the days of Status Quo live really are numbered. Next summer will bring the curtain down for the last time on this legendary band. Good luck Francis.

The end is nigh. Sad, but nothing lasts for ever (except maybe Keith Richards). I've got some great memories of seeing Quo over many years. EDIT: I think Quo will end up being on an indefinite hiatus, much like Abba.

@@michaelkarlsson5966 He's not committing to any Quo activity beyond 2024, but he has left the door ajar. Which means that if he gets fed up with the _Tunes and Chat_ solo tour, he'll "get the band back together".

5:50 is where he starts talking about Quo, summer tour 2024, Rick Parfitt, Freddie Edwards, Richie Malone, and resumption of solo tour autumn 2024. "Whether it (Quo) goes again after that, I... I can't really see it".

Francis should start writing his memoir. Probably most entertaing. Frank Allen of the Searchers wrote two books. Very funny. He and Francis seem to have similar types of humour.

Post Frantic Four and the loss of one of the best Rhythm sections in Rock history, Rossi and Parfitt made some very ' ordinary' music. Apart from a couple of reasonably good tracks, "Ain't Complainin'" and "Perfect Remedy" were fairly horrible albums and that's being polite. QUO would never be the one that we loved when they played the 16 min and 42 second LIVE version of "4500 Times" Though they did make some good albums without Alan and John. "Perfect Remedy" is one of the worst albums in recording history. "Don't Stop" is a fairly embarrassing Covers album. Though I did and do enjoy "Riffs" and "FITLCentury" "RTYDrop" is a masterpiece of an album. "Thirsty Work" has some very good tracks on it. "Under The Influence" is musically acceptable in places. It contains a very rare good Country song "Blessed are the Meek" "Party Ain't Over Yet" is enjoyable, yet light weight. "Heavy Traffic" is very good, it is awesome. "ISOT4th Chord" is very good, some very clever, intelligent Rock music. "Quid Pro Quo" is excellent and a thumpin' Rock album. "Bula QUO" has great Rock tracks on it, Ska, Reggae and Jungle music as well. "Backbone" is a mixed bag, some very good tracks, a few that aren't. Though they should've adjusted the Band's name after John and Alan left

Coghlan is definitely one of the best Rock Drummers of all time. It was a very sad day when he left QUO. Driven out by the egomania of Francis Rossi's desire to control the Band. The 1982 album was very 'ordinary' and Pete Kircher's Drum sound was very 'hollow' and quite horrible. There were only a couple of decent songs on that album and the "Back to Back' album as well. Alan was only hanging on by his finger nails until he couldn't take any more. The horrible and disgusting "Marguerita Time" was the straw that broke the Camel's back and Alan had no choice but to leave the Band. The Judge in the court case made a huge mistake by allowing Rossi and Parfitt to continue using the Band's name. Alan said "It was like having one of your children abducted and abused" Alan told Rossi not to come within arms length of him. Even though Alan was a lovely guy, according to all reports you wouldn't want to get into a fight with him. Parfitt said that Alan was a tough guy that could 'handle himself' Rossi is one of the best Guitarists and Singers in music history, I just have very strong doubts about his character. I wish we could see the 'real' Rossi. He jokes around and avoids the truth in interviews. He calls himself an 'insecure show off' seeking attention of an audience. I think it's all a psychological 'smoke screen' to hide who and what he really is. Rossi is a very clever man, there's no doubt about that. Though he's not one of my favourite people. Ever since I read in an interview where someone labelled Rossi as 'The Anti-QUO', I've adopted it as well. Rossi set about dismantling the best and greatest Rock Band in history. Rossi destroyed our STATUS QUO.
