He is a prime example of a stoic, and a gentle giant. Freedom and justice are core values for him. He won’t compromise them for money, which means he cannot be bribed. He also clearly doesn’t like bullies, and bullying (no wonder he and Dana clash). He doesn’t like to talk trash and is clearly outside his comfort zone when he tries to. It’s just not him. Does he have an ego? Of course. But a healthy, humble one. Not a pompous one. It is very rare to find a human being that exudes so many qualities in a single package - calm confidence, intelligence, incredible physical abilities, the technical skills of hand-to-hand combat, and virtuous qualities like compassion. It’s why no one is worrying that Francis will get corrupted by the money or fame like so many men have. What he had to go through and saw in his life was enough darkness, and he knows better. This is what makes him different from the Jon Jones and Conor McGregors of the world, who easily let themselves slip to vices. Can’t wait to see what the next chapter in Francis’s life will look like, but it’s full of amazing possibilities. Maybe even an acting career? He seems like a quick study in anything he puts his mind to. Imagine that...

You can't say it's purely due to environment though. There were other people in the same situation as Ngannou, and they didn't become anything like him. There's something innately special about him.

@@hibot4531 No ofcource not. Nobody who is a pro high level MMA fighter is scared of anybody. What that means when Dana says it is that Francis was smart enough to realise its a dangerous fight and set a higher pay demand in negotiations. So basicly Dana is saying he priced himself out meanwhile Ngannou ofcource believed he could get that kinda of money outside of the UFC for more than 1 fight which tbh no one really thought he could which is why Dana taught it was a bluff and didnt agree to Ngannous weird terms.Francis proved everybody wrong and now will get money fights on hes terms.

Francis has opened mma gym’s in Cameroon, to give his home town kids the chance to better themselves like he has. He is truly a great guy. Amazing fighter too.

This man gives me such hope for humanity. A man that all men can look up to and aspire to be like. Every time I’m in my boxing class and I’m gassed out and want to quit during endurance training, I think of Ngannou, and the warrior’s path that he followed to be here today. He gives me strength. Shout out to Mike Tyson as well. Both of them heroes.

Exactly a lot of people that think they had it rough, didn’t even go through what 10% of what Francis went through. This wasn’t no regular hardship, this man was born into misery. The fact that he made it this far is beautiful and extremely inspirational, needs a movie made about his life.

Nganou is freak of the muscle and strength he has given by God

How can you not love and and admire this man. His biography will be timeless.

Francis has become a great inspiration. Let's not forget that his mother did well bringing him up like this.

Im so glad someone noticed how Stoic Francis is, not just in the cliche "no emotion" front, rather the more substantial concepts and practices of Stoicism. --- Francis embodies Stoicism, from not caring what others say about him, to focusing on what he can control, to always striving to improve and learn... Welcome to the club. I’ve been locked in on Francis since early 2018. Be happy you came onboard now as opposed to back then. It was excruciating watching him go through the last stages in the UFC and after. The people talkin shit without knowing about who he is as a person and what his journey had been was beyond measure …and infuriating.

This is one of the greatest sporting stories of all time. There is no comprehension by an entitled westerner including myself about what kind of spirit you must need to have to endure that and become what N’gannou has become.

his warrior status comes more from his virtue than his physical strength... being strong is one thing but knowing how to properly handle... and use it to the benefit of others is something entirely different

Become the person you needed but never showed up. Become the hero who shows up! The best thing a man can be.

I’ve always been a Boxing fan and don’t really like UFC so naturally I never heard of Ngannou. But now I know him and he has gained my full respect not just as a Boxer but as a human being. He is a great human being and it’s a privilege to be able to see him join the boxing community and become the next Heavyweight champion of the world in not too distant future.

A film about his story would be incredible. It's just who would be able to play him, he's so unique.

Personality-wise, Francis Ngannou is the antithesis of Conor McGregor.

Never really followed MMA, so Ngannou was a new name to me, but what an amazing achievement. Usyk has consistent grace as well, but Ngannou is bullet proof.

What a man! His story is unreal. To come from such adversity and to stay so humble with everything he has achieved is so admirable. Total respect.

It's crazy to see how much power is inside the mind of a person.. He went through some of the hardest times any human being could go through he rose above it all chasing a dream to become a boxer after watching Mike tyson.. along his journey he became a mma champion to then finally step in the ring as a boxer after being trained by the man he was inspired by .. people say the power of manifestation is in the mind of the person .. all he had to do was quit n he would have failed.. its an unbelievable story and it just shows you what people are truly capable of if they really want it

You would think that a man who has been through what Francis has been through would be arrogant and mean, but this guy is just so humble and soft-spoken. A gentle giant. Real tough men don't act tough.

Francis is one of the greatest examples of what to aspire to be for young men. Becoming an absolute monster with a heart of gold and a stoic mind. He is a real life hero to us all.

This is great and I'd be very interested to watch a full documentary of his life story and struggles in the style that you did in the first few minutes of the video.

Francis Ngannou is a true Champion! Fury could learn a few things, both in and out of the ring, from Ngannou.
