I heard IJF is going to make it illegal to apply pressure on the neck with your leg on Kata Sankaku or any other peruvian necktie like chokes. Uta Abe - version (to Kata Gatame) and Boukli version might still be legal, Clerget and Agbegnenou / Buchard version will be illegal.

Gerbe is another name, but the Japanese is the correct terminology for shimewaza, that's the beauty of Judo, you can go to any dojo in any country in the world and every club only uses Japanese terminology so you understand everything without needing to know the language, that includes all excercises etc etc, with BJJ unless they speak English the techniques are in their own language, I never understood why BJJ in its inception didn't carry on that tradition as it comes from Judo, and in turn Judo came from traditional Jujitsu, I do both but if I go to Albania for BJJ, I'm having to try and understand what they're referring to unless shown, (some do speak a little English but a lot don't)

the second variant is just the Peruvian Necktie in a gi. Same grip, no?

Funny how the Judo world is in awe of this choke right now. Its an old choke thats been around for quite some time. Nothing special, nothing new, it's about time they started using it more often in competition though.

No es nuevo, otra variante es el "Gerbi choke", que lo popularizó aquella judoka, pero ya no se permite esa variante, no se puede usar tu chaqueta de esa forma.

Eres el mejor hermano pero si no te molesta te importaría hacer un vídeo de encadenar un yoko tomos nave con un juji gatame

Talvez no Judô, devido as regras, o uso dessa técnica seja novidade!!! No Brasilian Jiujitsu é comum!!! Talvez se o Judô tivesse uma vertente não olímpica, teriamos mais técnicas sendo utilizada!!!

Francia fue de los primeros países en recibir Judo, tanto así que allá se crearon los cinturones de colores (antes solo había blanco y negro) El nivel del Judo francés es de los mejores del mundo, y si tiene expertos en newaza es porque siempre se cultivó, así que para ellos no es novedad
