The French know it. Another election in 12 months with even more of a shift to common-sense. 8 seats in 2017, 89 in 2022 and now more than 130 in 2024. The French people have been waking up. At least on that front, there is hope

Truth is that millions of ordinary Europeans are sick of mass immigration. I’ll give you a recent personal example: I was on holiday in Provence recently. I visited the gorgeous old perfume town of Grasse. Every single resident I saw was an Arab. It felt like Tangiers or Algiers. It certainly didn’t feel like France. If I want to visit an Arab town I go to Africa or Asia; Europe shouldn’t be creating whole towns of non-Europeans. No other continent does this stuff to this degree.

Trying to interpret what is happening in France in terms of left-centre-right is no longer helpful. It now comes down to whether people have a government that represents them or not. Voters are not divided on left or right but on do they trust government or not.
