Here's another: Fran's real-life sister is a nurse, and people are always telling her she talks like the nanny. That's when she tells them that Fran is her sister.

@@Dori9111 A running gag throughout the series is the money culture clash between Fran and The Fines and Maxwell and The Sheffields (and C.C.). Ellie Mae Clampett is a character from a 60s TV Show called "The Beverly Hillbillies" which is about a poor family from the Ozarks that strike oil on their land, get rich and move to California. Nadine's line is funny because the best example of upper class living she can think of to compare Fran to is a new money hillbilly.

Well most ppl weren’t as big then as they are now. So average now would have been heavy then. Even looking back at photos of my parents from the 90’s everyone was very slim.

I wonder why Nadine never appeared in any other episode. IIRC she was not even present at Fran's wedding, even though she was (apparently) living in New York aswell. Even Aunt Frieda had more screentime than her.

Sometimes actors aren't available. The scheduling doesn't line up. Why people in comments don't get this simple fact is beyond me. They barely used Val even as a side character. I hardly think the actress was waiting around for the show to end, to get other jobs.

@@watcherx2592 Not a good explanation. If an actor isn't available, just cast another one with a similar appearance. That's actually what the producers did with Jocelyn, Maxwell's sister. She appeared twice during the show and was played by two different actresses (Twiggy and Sophie Ward).

Fran was indeed Sylvia's favourite. Sylvia was so eager to see Fran having children, even though she already had 2 grandchildren from Nadine. Nadine is also a caterer, so she is busy the whole time.

@@adrianitazzimple I think it goes far beyond that, all the way to their childhood. When Fran has a flashback from her childhood, Nadine also appears, but barely speaks 2 lines. It's mainly Fran and Sylvia discussing. We can guess from this that Fran has always been Sylvia's favourite.

I love this episode. My fave scenes were when she and her sister Nadine were arguing and then Gracie and Maggie come in and Fran said hi girls, you worked out your problems lol. So funny. And the whole MY ROOM NAY!!! 😂

Also her sister looks like she could be related to kitty from that 70s show

This was my favorite episode. Love the part where they are running back and forth, while Niles is singing...

Nadine was the best, just like Frieda!! I never understood why they didn't use her more, she was a PERFECT addition to the crazy Fine family, also with a fittingly unbearable foghorn voice :)))

Fran was jealous because she's in love with him she simply cut to the chase & told Maxwell that Nadine was after him & if he wanted Nadine he would have pursued her after Fran told him he's a grown up ass man & C.C . spent years with Max before Fran came into the picture & nothing happened so yeah he's just not into Nadine or C.C.

You sound so bitter and jealous here lol it's a TV SHOW CHARACTER LOL but great writing tho bc yeah if he wanted Nadine or CC, he would've pursued them. He holds off on Fran cause he feels like he's cheating his late wife and kids if he lets himself fall in love.

Fran broke the number one rule, don’t bring anyone new around the person you like until you seal the deal.

This was one of the best episodes. Too bad they didn't make her a regular.
