François Adrien Boieldieu: Piano Concerto in F Major, Martin Galling (piano)
Музыка
François-Adrien BOIELDIEU - Piano Concerto in F Major, Martin Galling (piano), Innsbruck Symphony Orchestra, Robert Wagner (conductor)
François-Adrien Boieldieu (16 December 1775 - 8 October 1834) was a French composer, mainly of operas, often called "the French Mozart".
Although his reputation is largely based upon his operas, Boieldieu also composed other works. Among them was his Harp Concerto in C, written in 1800-1801 and one of the masterpieces of the harp repertory.
“His Piano Concerto in F Major was composed when young. The work is bright, frothy and tuneful. A pastoral lyrical movement (Pastorale con variazioni) contrasts with the busy Allegro, which opens the work. A number of variations follow, first played solo and then accompanied by the orchestra. It is a well written work and shows considerable maturity for a young composer.” (Raymond Walker)

Magnifique, une belle découverte. Un vrai bonheur cette musique. 🙏🎶💓🎶✨
Un véritable bonheur que ce compositeur.
Pretty music ;) His harp concerto is great, too.
Bello concierto y gracias una vez más por subir música clásica que no es muy conocida para los no expertos
Martin Galling, born in 1935, is wellknown as solist in concertos of unknown composers. He is a specialist.

My piano teacher.Very strict but extremely rewarding.
Extremely beautiful! Lote again to discover through KZread my dear Yulia a new great composer and an extraordinary piano concert. No words. I would like to listen to his Arp concert as I read one of the best of all times.

Dear Martin, I'm glad you liked the piano concerto. As for the harp concert, I did not post it, but please look for it on KZread, it exists. Friendly greetings!
Que lindo! Muito bom.
The third variation in the "Pastorale con variizione" seems to owe a lot to the opening movement of Mozart's Piano Sonata #11. Lovely performance. I've never heard this before and Boieldieu has always been a favourite of mine.

Pleasant surprise. From a youth concerto of an opera composer (minor one) you would expect no more than a boring or vacuous scholastic exercise. Well it's much more. Concise, well structured, perhaps not always inspired, but full of mature personality. Pity he did not find time to write more, except the beautiful harp one.

Thank you for your comment and I'm glad you liked it. I hope you agree that many composers have been forgotten because of our preconceived opinions. Our parents or grandparents have taught us that the only composers whose music deserves to be heard were Mozart, Beethoven, Haydn, then Brahms, Mendelssohn, Chopin, Liszt ... Because this was the only music to be heard on radio channels, then on vinyls and CDs. This was the only music that great performers and great conductors played until the 1950s (+ or -10 years, depending on the country and its cultural level). I apologize if I'm wrong, I do not want to provoke a controversial discussion.

Thank you again. I am so glad that there are "supporters" of less well-known composers! I have acquired in the last 10 years classical music rarely recorded and I thought the same way: I will not have the necessary time to listen to all of it! (I admit, however, that sometimes I return to the music of the great composers, especially when the music is played by talented young performers).

Boieldieu is not a "minor composer", his operas are great and he was very famous here in France. He's a great composer like Grétry and Auber.
