Yep. Designers aren't the ones deciding if AI is good enough to replace our jobs. It's the employers and CEOs with little to no design knowledge who think AI work is good enough. We all like to say that AI is a tool. But look at how far it's come in less than a year. We're constantly judging AI's ability based on what it can do NOW, rather than what it's capable of in the (near) future. So we always say it's just a tool, or the designs look bad, or it's a good starting point. However its current trajectory is that it will be more than advanced enough to replace A LOT of jobs in a lot of fields, including design.

It's really not scary to be honest. If you think about it on any platform (Webflow, Wordpress with Elementor, Editor X, Framer) there's hundreds of predesigned templates, libraries and wireframes that will allow you to build up a site in minutes and replace the images and copy with your own, yet we still are doing are own thing. At the moment I don't see anything AI is producing that is way better than high end templates you can buy. That's my 2 cents. I know it'll get better but last night I spent hours in this tool and wasn't able to produce anything that'll make me nervous.

I wouldn't call it INSANE. While Framer itself is an INSANELY solid platform for designers, I personally feel that this AI tool might be a bit of a stretch. It appears to be another instance of businesses jumping on the AI bandwagon for the sake of hype. The resulting "websites" seem to be only suitable for basic content, at best. The design options offered are merely average, and if, as some suggest, these templates are intended for one-page landing pages, they miss out on essential elements necessary for search visibility. Granted, it's a starting point, and improvements can be made over time. However, I can't help but question whether you'd have greater success using free templates provided by Framer considering that currently, you'd be doing a fair bit of work on the AI-generated site anyway. In that case, is it truly a meaningful "start" at all?
