Framed Colt's Patent Fire-Arms Company Painted Antique Advertising Mirror

Framed Colt's Patent Fire-Arms Company Painted Antique Advertising Mirror, c.1900.
Painted scene of the Colt factory, located in Hartford, Conn. Image of Samuel Colt is just to the right of the factory. Below are six early Colt firearms, three revolvers and three long guns. This is the only example of the rare antique store display from c. 1900 we have ever encountered. Decorative scroll border. Contained in wooden frame. Turn-of-the-century advertising mirrors were hand-painted on the reverse of the glass rather than printed on the front like their more contemporary counterparts, and the artwork is protected from the elements by the applied mirrored backing. This piece has remained remarkably well-preserved for a store display over a century old, with only slight oxidation expected on an item of this vintage.
